Chapter 54 The Consequence of a False Accusation
Harlan knew he was doomed.
Larissa was far more capable than he had ever imagined.
During the five years she spent on Ravenmind Island, what had she gone through?
She had changed. She was no longer the little sister who used to trail after him everywhere.
Julia stared with her eyes wide open, her face full of disbelief.
How is this possible?
She refused to believe it. How could Larissa be so much better than me?
Larissa was supposed to be a useless orphan.
Yet now, she had excellent grades. Everyone agreed she was a genius.
All the praise and honor that belonged to Larissa should have been mine.
Tom looked pleasantly surprised. He hadn’t expected such a top student to be hidden in the school.
“Larissa, you are the pride of our school!”
Larissa turned her cold gaze to Harlan. “Well? Do you have anything else to say now?”
Harlan’s lips trembled. “I … I … ”
But he could no longer say a single word in his defense.
Tom looked at Harlan with a serious expression.

“Harlan, you made accusations without evidence and seriously disrupted school order. According to your agreement, the school will now expel you.”
Harlan panicked and begged for mercy, but Tom did not waver.
Between Larissa and Harlan, he knew exactly who mattered more to the school.
Larissa looked at Harlan calmly. “This is what happens when you smear others. You lost the bet, so accept the result. Learn from this. Don’t let others manipulate you again.”
Harlan closed his eyes in despair. He knew he had lost completely.
Watching the scene, Julia’s hatred only grew stronger. She silently swore that she would find a chance to take revenge on Larissa.
Priscilla clenched her teeth in anger.
With the matter settled, Larissa and Bailey walked toward a restaurant outside the school.

Bailey looked excited. “Larissa, I didn’t expect you to contact me again after so long. It’s truly an honor.”
Even facing the highly respected professor, Larissa remained calm.
“I’m sorry for the trouble I caused you,” she said.
Though her words sounded polite, there was no real apology in her tone.
As they talked, the food was brought to the table.
“Larissa,” Bailey said hesitantly, “there’s something else I hoped you could help me with today.”
Larissa picked up her fork and glanced at him. “We go way back. If you need something, just say it.”
“I have a favorite student,” Bailey said slowly. “Two years ago, he was in a car accident that left his legs. paralyzed. The doctors say he only has three months left to live. I came to Marcrest because I heard the Wonder Doctor had appeared here. But it’s been a month, and there’s still no sign of them.
“I know what you’re capable of. When my life was in danger back then, you saved me. So I’m hoping you can go see my student. Even if you can’t cure him, I won’t blame you.”
Larissa set down her fork. Bailey placed a bottle of ice–cold cola in front of her.
