Chapter 56 A Powerful Counterattack

The video ended, but it was clear to everyone what kind of life Larissa had lived in the Turner household.
Once the video was posted, it exploded online.
The reaction was instant and massive. People began to condemn Julia for being cruel and calculating. They also accused the Turners of blaming and abusing their adopted daughter, without caring about the truth.
In just a few minutes, there were millions of comments.
[Turns out we were wrong about Larissa all this time.]
[Larissa is the real victim.]
[So this is the life Larissa had when she lived with the Turners. If it were me, I would also cut ties with that family.]
[Julia really fooled everyone. She’s the cruel one.]
[The fire was started by Julia, and she blamed Larissa for it. The family even sent a twelve–year–old child to some place as awful as the Ravenmind Island.]
[She was only twelve. That’s the age when a child needs love and a father the most. How could they do that?]
[The Turners are completely heartless. They treated a twelve–year–old kid like that? I’m never buying anything from Turner Group again. I’m boycotting them.]
[Same here. I’m boycotting Turner Group.]
Turner Group’s reputation collapsed overnight.
When Julia saw the video, she almost fainted from anger. She swept everything off the table and sent it crashing to the floor.
Priscilla saw it too. She stepped forward and hugged her daughter.
“Julia, calm down,” she said softly.
“Your father already had people suppress the news as soon as he saw it. Don’t worry. Not many people will know.”
Julia asked nervously, “Mom, will Dad be angry with me now that he knows the truth about the fire? Larissa was sent away because of that. Will he feel guilty about it?”
“Don’t worry,” Priscilla replied. “He still believes you are his biological daughter. How could Larissa ever compare to you? When your father comes home later, just cry and admit some fault. He won’t stay angry.”

She paused, her eyes cold.

“Besides, Larissa has already left home. They no longer care about each other. The one who hurt Larissa the most wasn’t you or me. It was your dad. He’s the one who should be plagued with the most guilt.”
A scheming smile appeared on Priscilla’s face.
“When your father and siblings come home, just cry and beg for his forgiveness. I promise he won’t have the heart to blame you.”
Julia finally let out a breath of relief.
At the same time, in Morris’s office.
He was in a meeting with the senior executives when the assistant suddenly rushed in.
“Mr. Turner, something’s wrong,” the assistant said urgently.
“Please look at this news. Our company just made the headlines. Our reputation is dropping fast.”
Morris’s face turned dark. He grabbed the tablet and watched the video. Shock flashed across his eyes. Then regret. Then anger.
