The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 403

Chloe...

Chloe...

Isabella shook her head hard, desperately trying to throw Chloe's face out of her mind.

She had never been like this.

She was just an insignificant person, yet she repeatedly invaded Isabella's thoughts, leaving her restless.

Isabella felt frustrated and suffocated.

Chloe was just an inconspicuous assistant; normally, Isabella wouldn't even bother to take a second glance, but today, she just couldn't forget!

It wasn't until a tall figure slowly walked out of the airport arrival gate that Isabella finally snapped back to reality.

She immediately put on a bright smile and waved vigorously at the man.

Quentin Shaw walked out of the corridor, his gaze sweeping over lightly. "What are you doing here?"

"Quentin, I'm here to pick you up for dinner at home," Isabella said softly.

Quentin wanted to tactfully refuse, but out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of Alaric Sylvain standing to the side.

His eyes paused slightly, and he gave a polite nod. "Mr. Sylvain."

Alaric's tone was calm. "We're having dinner at the Sylvain house tonight."

Out of respect for his elders, Quentin did not decline and nodded faintly. "Alright."

Seeing this, Isabella quietly breathed a sigh of relief, suppressing some of her irritability.

Along the way, she deliberately walked beside Quentin, always trying to find a topic to engage him in conversation.

But the man kept his eyes glued to his phone the entire time, his fingertips tapping quickly on the screen, as if he was messaging someone, with no intention of being distracted at all.

Isabella pursed her lips tightly, a wave of disappointment washing over her.

All day today, her emotions had long been on the verge of collapse.

It was only the moment she saw Quentin that she forcefully pushed all her grievances and unwillingness back down, not wanting to reveal the slightest bit.

Alaric suddenly spoke up. "Who are you messaging so intently?"

"A friend," Quentin replied in a flat tone. "I'm worried she might be getting anxious waiting."

"Who is it?" Isabella blurted out instinctively.
