As Alexander stepped out of the boutique, he rubbed his temples, about to head for the parking lot when a familiar voice stopped him. “Leaving so soon, Mr. Davidson?”
Rebecca approached leisurely, her hands in her pockets, flanked by a silent and composed Sammie. She sized Alexander up, her eyes filled with a probing curiosity. “Are you really planning to give up on Danielle for good?”
Alexander stopped and turned to face them, his tone flat. “She has Gian Atwood now, and she seems to be doing just fine. Why should I interfere?”
“Just fine?” Rebecca scoffed, crossing her arms. “You were parked outside her building until midnight last week, waiting to see her lights come on before you left. You didn’t seem to think she was ‘just fine’ then. Alexander, when did you become so good at lying to yourself?”
Alexander didn’t argue. He pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, drawing one out but not lighting it, instead twirling it between his fingers. He knew he couldn’t fool Rebecca; they had grown up together, and they could always see right through each other.
Seeing his silence, Rebecca’s tone softened, though her questions remained sharp. “Are you and Lorie really getting married? I don’t believe for a second that your last engagement party was canceled by accident. Don’t think I don’t know you pulled some strings behind the scenes.”
“It wasn’t an accident,” Alexander finally admitted.
Rebecca raised an eyebrow, not particularly surprised, though Sammie’s eyes flickered with interest. Rebecca’s lips curved into a slight smirk as she leaned in closer, lowering her voice. “Is this about your mentor? His research was stolen by the Gaylord family, his reputation was ruined, and he lost his life. Are you cozying up to Lorie to get revenge for him?”
Alexander looked up at Sammie. “Thanks.” An extra layer of protection was an extra layer of peace of mind.
He took out his phone, pulled up the address of Danielle’s new home and Niki’s school route, and handed it to Sammie. “They recently moved into the villa complex next to Kirsten. The security is tight, but we can’t be too careful. Niki leaves for school at 9:30 AM and gets out at 3 PM. Make sure she doesn’t notice anyone following her.”
“Don’t worry.” Sammie took the phone, quickly memorized the information, and handed it back. “I’ll assign my most reliable people. Nothing will go wrong.”
Rebecca clapped Alexander on the shoulder, her tone lightening. “See? It’s that simple.”

I hope daniele will have no end game with alexander since whatever the reason is, he only give her too much grievencess. I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele. Hated that in the name of love or protection alexander can treat another woman better, not just once, but with this new lorie girl... Oh my blood pressure getting higher cause by the new plot :(...

This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
