The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1089

"Get out."

Alexander dismissed him, and he had no choice but to leave.

After Nash left, filled with frustration and worry, Alexander was alone in the living room. He was never meant to live for himself. He was accustomed to suppressing his own needs, to placing everyone else's safety above his own. Even his crippling depression and coughing up blood seemed like trivial matters.

His fingertip traced across his phone screen, pausing on Danielle's name. A flicker of softness appeared in his eyes, only to be instantly veiled by cold resolution.

After a sleepless night, Alexander was dressed and ready at dawn. The black suit made him look even taller and more imposing, but his face was still pale, and the dark circles under his eyes were impossible to hide.

Nash drove him to the bidding conference. The two of them didn't speak a word, the silence in the car as thick as fog.

The first public bidding for the 'Fighter-07' project had drawn the entire industry's attention. The venue was buzzing with activity as representatives from major corporations gathered, all vying for a piece of this strategically vital project.

When Danielle and Gian arrived with the Ninesky team, the conference hall was already crowded. She wore a sharp white pantsuit, her long hair pulled back to reveal the delicate line of her neck, her expression focused and professional. Gian stood by her side, and they murmured to each other about bidding details, their easy rapport drawing more than a few glances.

Danielle’s eyes instinctively scanned the room and quickly found the Vanguard Technologies section. Harold was chatting and laughing with those around him, his sharp eyes radiating an air of complete confidence. Not far off, Vincent had also arrived with Lorie, who was dressed in a red gown and wore exquisite makeup. However, she looked displeased, her eyes filled with resentment and unwillingness.

Just as Danielle looked away, a familiar, commanding figure came into view—Jake. She hadn't expected him to attend the bidding in person, and a strange feeling stirred within her.

"Don't play dumb with me!" Jake's face darkened, his voice growing sharp. "You've made move after move in the business world for years. Don't tell me you lack power and influence! I'm not blind to the arrangements you've made behind the scenes. If you were willing to act, Nathan might still have a chance."

Alexander looked up at his father, his eyes as cold as frost. "My influence is nothing compared to the power you held in your prime. You couldn't even shake the justice system. What could I possibly do?"

This statement hit Jake hard. He stared at this son who grew more unfamiliar by the day, feeling both angry and helpless. The quiet boy who once held a glimmer of admiration for him had grown into a sharp-edged, impenetrable man.

"Must you be so heartless?" Jake's voice rose, laced with disappointment. "You are a Davidson! You have Davidson blood in your veins!"
