She took a deep breath, trying to calm her frantic emotions, but the worry in her heart didn’t lessen one bit. “What happened to him? Why isn’t he answering his phone or responding to my messages?”
“I don’t know the specific details,” Sammie answered honestly. “Mr. Davidson only told me on the phone that I must watch over you and not let you leave the hotel. I believe he doesn’t want you to worry. He will contact you as soon as the situation is resolved.”
Danielle fell silent. She knew Sammie was right, but the gnawing anxiety made it impossible to relax. She leaned against the doorframe, watching the snow swirl outside, and silently prayed for Alexander’s safety, for everything to be resolved.
She returned to her room and sat by the window, her eyes glued to her phone, terrified of missing a call or message. Time ticked by. The sky outside began to lighten, but the snow showed no signs of stopping. And from Alexander, there was still nothing but silence.
Danielle’s heart sank lower and lower. She had no idea what was happening at the station or if Alexander was even safe.

Back at the research station, Alexander had been working for over twelve hours straight. His eyes were bloodshot, and his face was even paler than usual. The search had yielded nothing. The chip had vanished without a trace.
“Mr. Davidson, we’ve questioned everyone, and there are no suspicious individuals. We’ve searched every corner, but the chip is still missing,” Parham reported, his voice heavy with exhaustion and defeat.
Alexander rubbed the bridge of his nose, the pressure mounting. The chip was a state secret; it could not fall into the wrong hands. If they couldn’t find it, not only would the Phoenix-07 project be severely impacted, but it could also trigger a major security crisis.
“Search again,” Alexander commanded. “Expand the search perimeter. Go through everyone’s luggage and personal belongings. Also, contact the outside. Lock down every route out of Antarctica. We can’t let that chip leave the continent.”
“Yes, sir,” Parham nodded and turned to resume the grueling search.

I hope daniele will have no end game with alexander since whatever the reason is, he only give her too much grievencess. I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele. Hated that in the name of love or protection alexander can treat another woman better, not just once, but with this new lorie girl... Oh my blood pressure getting higher cause by the new plot :(...

OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
