The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1369

It was Gian's car.

Kirsten's face fell instantly. The faint warmth that had just blossomed in her chest felt like it had been doused in ice water.

Instinctively, she wanted to step back inside and hide, but her feet were glued to the floor, completely paralyzed.

Following her gaze, Ms. Gaylord spotted the Bentley and a knowing smile spread across her face.

She turned, waving cheerfully toward the street, then looked back at Kirsten. "Oh, look. He's here."

Kirsten snapped her head up. Staring at the cheerful smile on the teacher's face, her mind went entirely blank.

She watched as Ms. Gaylord walked out, calling down to the street, "Mr. Atwood! Have you been waiting long?"

Gian stepped out and began walking in their direction.

Kirsten stood in her doorway, gripping the doorframe so tightly her knuckles turned white. Her thoughts were a chaotic mess.

Why was he here?

And how did he know Ms. Gaylord?

Frozen in place, she watched the teacher wave at him, watched Gian walk closer.

She watched them exchange a few casual words. She watched Ms. Gaylord walk to the passenger side, and she watched Gian casually open the door for her.

The entire interaction was smooth, natural, and sickeningly familiar.

A bitter, self-deprecating smirk slowly curved Kirsten's lips.

Of course.

No wonder the studio was able to send a teacher over so fast. No wonder her teaching style was exactly what she needed. No wonder...

He had orchestrated the entire thing from the start.

She had been foolish enough to think she had finally found something purely for herself, a way to heal and pass the time, only to realize she was still trapped in his shadow.
