Danielle had transferred over to handle some cross-departmental operations.
Her personal phone buzzed against the surface of her desk.
Seeing the name "Gian" flashing on the screen, she quickly picked it up. "Gian?"
"Danielle, Kirsten is strapped for cash and throwing her resume everywhere trying to land a legal counsel position."
He didn't bother with small talk, cutting straight to the chase.
Danielle paused, instantly realizing he was calling to ask for a favor.
But honestly, even without Gian asking, she would have pulled strings for Kirsten anyway given how close they were.
The problem was that the relationship between Kirsten and Gian was currently a minefield. Gian couldn't step in himself, probably because Kirsten had already told him to back off.
That's exactly why he was coming to her.
"I understand," Danielle said smoothly. "I'll take care of it on my end. You don't need to worry."
"I owe you one," Gian muttered. "She's incredibly stubborn. She flat-out refuses to take a cent of my money and won't listen to a damn word I say. But if you talk to her, she might actually listen."
"She's my friend too, Gian. Helping her isn't exactly a favor to you." Danielle replied. "You know, the way you're talking right now sounds an awful lot like a concerned husband. You really need to take a step back and figure out where she actually stands in your heart."
Gian fell completely silent.
He pressed his lips together. "We were always great friends, the three of us."
"Ever since we launched Ninesky, everything was fine. It was this fake marriage that completely ruined whatever we had."
"Just think about it," Danielle advised softly.

It seems like this novel will end at chapter 5000. Every time one issue ends, another one pops up, and it seems like the author is just trying to drag it out. I'm starting to get tired of reading it....
I hope daniele will have no end game with alexander since whatever the reason is, he only give her too much grievencess. I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele. Hated that in the name of love or protection alexander can treat another woman better, not just once, but with this new lorie girl... Oh my blood pressure getting higher cause by the new plot :(...
