It wasn't until the afternoon that the doctor came in for a check-up, confirming Kirsten was recovering perfectly and could be discharged tomorrow.
Hearing the news, Gian's smile deepened.
He immediately stood up and began packing up the room with efficient speed.
Leaning against the pillows, Kirsten watched his busy frame, a soft smile automatically touching her lips.
A corner of her heart melted, and the idea of 'not getting a divorce' quietly began to take root.
The next morning.
Just as she finished washing up, the door swung open. Danielle Crawford walked in briskly, holding a thermal container. "Kirsten, I heard you were going home today, so I made you some homemade chicken noodle soup to build your strength."
"Danielle," Kirsten greeted her warmly.
Danielle set the thermos on the table and popped the lid, filling the room with the rich, savory aroma of the soup.
She ladled out a bowl and handed it over. "Try it. I was up all morning making it. I added extra veggies and spices, just the way you like it. It'll get your energy up."
Kirsten took the bowl and had a spoonful.
She looked at Danielle, her heart full of gratitude. "Thank you. You always take such good care of me."
"Don't mention it."
Danielle smiled, sitting beside her and watching her finish the soup before asking, "How are you feeling? Did Gian stay with you this whole time?"
At the mention of Gian, a faint flush crept onto Kirsten's cheeks.
She nodded, her voice soft. "Yeah. He stood outside my door all night, and he's been by my side ever since."
She had no idea what to choose.
She paused, her tone turning serious. "Ask yourself—how do you really feel about Gian?"
"Is he just a friend, or is there something more?"
"You've seen everything he's done for you lately. Has your heart started to waver at all?"
"And think about it. If you divorce him, you'll be thrown back to the wolves. Your family won't stop trying to sell you off to the highest bidder."
"But if you stay married, Gian will shield you. He'll keep the chaos away so you can focus on building the life you actually want."

Although she was one of the protagonist (and best friend of Danielle), I'm really annoyed with Kristen. What does she actually want? She wants to be completely free from Gian, whatever their business is. But when Gian doesn't care about her, she gets annoyed and overthinks. Hey, Kristen, the world doesn't revolve around you. You may follow your own feelings, but that doesn't mean you can ignore other people's feelings at all!...
It seems like this novel will end at chapter 5000. Every time one issue ends, another one pops up, and it seems like the author is just trying to drag it out. I'm starting to get tired of reading it....
I hope daniele will have no end game with alexander since whatever the reason is, he only give her too much grievencess. I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele. Hated that in the name of love or protection alexander can treat another woman better, not just once, but with this new lorie girl... Oh my blood pressure getting higher cause by the new plot :(...
