Bianca also walked over, smiling. "Mr. Chapman, Alex will certainly be happy to see you."
Without saying more, Harold led Raffy toward Alexander.
Alexander froze for a second when he saw them, then walked over to meet them. "Mr. Chapman."
"Congratulations." Harold extended his hand, giving Alexander's a firm, sincere shake. "I wish you both a happy engagement. May you have a wonderful life together."
Alexander nodded. "Thank you." His gaze fell on Raffy, and a wave of complex emotions washed over him. Raffy was now Harold's adopted son. The irony of fate was staggering.
"Hello, Mr. Davidson," Raffy said quietly, looking at Alexander. His heart sank, and his eyes began to burn. The man who used to dote on him, his own father, he could now only call 'Mr. Davidson.'
Alexander gave a curt nod.
"What, no feelings left?" Harold remarked.
Alexander looked at him. "Since you've adopted him, I expect you to treat him well."
Harold smiled faintly. "Of course."
Soon, Harold was surrounded by a group of guests.
