The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 569

Maria watched the director enter the lounge, a venomous smile on her face.

When she figured enough time had passed, she led a group of people toward the lounge, her heart pounding with gleeful anticipation of what they would see when she threw open the door.

Hmph, Natalie. This is what you get for crossing me!

Reaching the door, Maria could no longer contain her excitement. She shoved it open and rushed inside without even taking a proper look.

"Natalie, you shameless..."

Her words died in her throat. Maria froze. This wasn't the scene she had expected. She saw Natalie and the director sitting on separate sofas, calmly drinking coffee.

Just drinking coffee, nothing else...

The director looked up at her, his eyes cold and his expression grim. Realizing something was wrong, Maria shot a glare at Natalie.

Natalie just sipped her coffee, looking completely detached from the situation.

The people who had followed Maria in were all completely bewildered.

"Natalie, you said there was a good show for us to watch. What are we watching?" someone asked.

Hearing this, the director's face darkened even further.

"Why aren't you all out there eating? What are you doing crowding in here?" The director could no longer hold back his anger and snapped at them.

Though they didn't know what was going on, they could all feel the director's fury. They quickly made their excuses and scurried out.

Soon, only the director, Natalie, and Maria were left in the lounge.

The director grabbed a cup and hurled it at Maria. He held back slightly, and it smashed against the wall behind her, but the act still terrified her.

"Mr. Temple, what... what are you doing?"

"Ms. Scott, since we started working together, have I ever done anything to wrong you?"

Maria shook her head frantically. "I still don't understand what you mean..."

Mr. Temple knew his own intentions weren't entirely pure, so he felt a bit guilty and didn't dare make a huge scene. But with Natalie framing it this way, he could now stand tall.

"Hmph. Maria, do you really think everyone is as shameless as you are?"

Now Maria was truly cornered. If Mr. Temple wasn't that kind of man, why would she have approached him? But she couldn't say that out loud; it would only make things worse for her.

"Mr. Temple, I... I admit I didn't think things through, but I truly never meant to harm you!"

Mr. Temple narrowed his eyes. "If it weren't for Ms. Taylor's quick thinking, the two of us would probably be trending online by now, with you fanning the flames until both our reputations were completely destroyed!"

"I... I would never do that."

Maria's heart pounded with guilt because Mr. Temple had just described her plan perfectly.

Mr. Temple strode over to Maria, clenching and unclenching his fists, but ultimately, he was wary of the powerful Hamilton backing her.

"Maria, we're only halfway through filming this movie. For the remainder of the shoot, we're going to have to 'cooperate' very, very well!"
