The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 642

Natalie spotted Maria instantly and immediately regretted coming.

So Maria was the female lead of this production. She should have asked.

“I didn't expect you to be here tonight. Did you come to celebrate my wrap party?” Maria said with a smile as she approached Natalie.

Natalie asked a friendly actress from her own set to take her daughter to get some food, then turned to face Maria, the woman with the deceptively sweet smile.

“There's no one else around. You can drop the act.”

Maria's smile faded slightly. “But I really am happy you could make it.”

She moved closer to Natalie, her eyes filled with unconcealable pride.

“This TV series I just finished is a major production that will air on the national broadcast network. The director is Barton Lee, the writer is Antony, and it features a cast of veteran actors who are all just supporting me. You have no idea how many people were fighting for this role. If I weren't talented enough, I never would have gotten it. Now that we've wrapped, the director is very pleased with my performance and guaranteed that once it airs, I'll gain a massive following and win awards left and right.”

Natalie pressed her lips together. The combination of Barton Lee and Antony was a golden ticket; anything they produced was a guaranteed hit. For Maria to land the lead role in their show meant she either had incredible acting skills or incredible connections.

Knowing Maria, it was obviously the latter. Hamilton must have spent a fortune on her.

“Well, congratulations in advance on winning Best Actress,” Natalie said sarcastically.

“You're jealous of me.”

“Hah. I've already won that award. Why would I be jealous of you?”

“But you're a nobody now, while I'm at the peak of my career.”

“But there can't be two suns in the sky. Now that I'm back, it's time for you to step aside.”

“You think you can make me?”

“It's true, I can only rely on myself. Unlike you, who relies on a man!”

“Tell me, do you still love Hamilton? If you do, I... I can step aside and let you two be together!”

“You're insane!” Natalie shoved Maria away. “You just want to hear me say something to put your mind at ease, don't you? Fine. I don't want him. He's all yours. Keep him!”

Having said her piece, Natalie turned to leave.

“Natalie!”

It was Hamilton's voice.

Natalie frowned and looked at Maria, who had a triumphant glint in her eyes. So she had deliberately lured her into saying those things. But it didn't matter if Hamilton heard. If he wanted to hear it, she'd say it again.

“Me? Am I someone you can just throw away? Who the hell do you think you are!” Hamilton said through gritted teeth.

Natalie didn't turn around. She just said coldly, “I'm a generous person. So I sincerely hope the two of you get married soon, have children, and live happily ever after.”
