He knew he was dying. He wasn't ready to go, but who would come to save him now?
Just then, the main door was thrown open, and someone rushed in.
He struggled to look and saw... Penelope.
Actually, Penelope was behind him; it was Jonas who had broken down the door.
She had convinced Jonas to come. Upon entering and seeing the scene, they were both shocked, despite being somewhat prepared.
Jonas rushed to help his father while Penelope lunged forward and snatched the medicine from Judy's hand.
After tossing it to Jonas, she kicked Judy to the ground as she tried to attack.
Judy's eyes blazed with fury. “Penelope! You've ruined my plans again!”
Penelope sneered. “Idiot.”
First Donald, now Hans. They were naive to think they hadn't left any tracks. As if everyone was as stupid as they were.
But seeing Judy like this, it was clear she was cornered and had resorted to this as a last-ditch effort.
Yvonne stood stunned for a moment before snapping out of it and rushing to Hans' side.
“Grandpa, I was wrong! I've been so foolish, I never wanted to hurt you!”
Jonas pushed her away. “Save it for when your grandfather wakes up.”
Penelope helped Jonas get Hans to the hospital. After emergency treatment, he was finally out of danger.
Jonas was now filled with nothing but gratitude for Penelope. “If you hadn't urged me to go to the Bishop manor, my father would have been killed by that mother and daughter.”
Penelope also breathed a sigh of relief. She hadn't been sure what Judy and her daughter would do, but her gut told her that if they were willing to go after Donald, they were desperate and wouldn't hesitate to harm Hans.
It was Kristin's first parent-teacher event at her new school, and Natalie felt terrible about the idea of not being there.
“Give me a break,” the director said, annoyed. “Between the rain and other mishaps, we've had so many delays. Today we can finally shoot, and we're getting nowhere. We're definitely not going to wrap on time. I have no idea what I'm going to tell the investors!”
Natalie tried to say more, but the director waved her away, telling her not to bother him.
Defeated, Natalie had no choice but to walk away.
“It's okay, Mommy. I'll just explain it to my teacher,” Kristin said sensibly.
Natalie gave her daughter a hug. “Mommy will figure something out.”
After a short break, the director called for them to resume filming.
Natalie got her makeup touched up and went to the set, but after waiting for a while, shooting still hadn't started. She asked a crew member and found out the supporting actress was missing.
