The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 662

She was starting to believe this man was Queena's father; he was just as annoying as she was.

“Mr. Amos, please come inside,” the male teacher said, sensing the tension and quickly ushering Hamilton in.

Hamilton saw that many other parents were arriving. He composed himself, gave Kristin one last long look, and went inside.

Queena scoffed at Kristin. “My mommy told me you're a bastard, that your mom had you with some random man. You don't have a father. Let's see you pull one out of a hat today!”

Kristin raised her fists, ready to hit Queena, who quickly ran off.

But she had been waiting so long. Where was he?

When a frantic Penelope arrived with Julian and Hubert in tow, she spotted Kristin immediately. She let go of her sons' hands and ran to hug her.

“My dear, I've missed you so much!”

Kristin wrapped her arms around Penelope's neck and gave her a big kiss on the cheek. “Penelope, I missed you too!”

Penelope lifted Kristin and bounced her a little. “Have you lost weight?”

“Mommy wants me to go on a diet.”

“How could she make you lose weight? I'm going to have a word with your mother about this.”

Kristin hugged Penelope and gave her another kiss. “Penelope loves me the most.”

Penelope put Kristin down. “Come on, your mom called me. I'll be with you today.”

But Kristin shook her head. “I'm waiting for someone.”

“Who are you waiting for?”

“I'm waiting for him who is taking me today.”

Penelope looked puzzled. “What? Your mom didn't mention anyone to me.”

“It's Mr. Stapleton.”

For a moment, Penelope couldn't place the name. Which 'Mr. Stapleton'?

“He ate dog food.”

Any other parent would have been skeptical, thinking their child couldn't possibly be that silly and would ask why, but Penelope, well-versed in Hubert's past antics, didn't doubt it for a second. Without needing to know why, she just asked the teacher to watch Kristin, then grabbed Julian and went to find Hubert.

“How much did he eat?”

“Half a bowl.”

“It must not taste too bad then.”

“He said it was delicious.”

Kristin waited a long time, but Marico still didn't show up. It was time for the event to start.

“Kristin, why don't you go to the classroom with me? When your dad gets here, we will bring him to our class, okay?” the teacher asked gently.

Not wanting to make things difficult for the teacher, Kristin agreed. “Okay.”
