The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 679

After saying that, Hamilton shot another cold glare at Marico.

"I won't let you get away with making a fool of me like this!"

Hamilton drove off, but Natalie couldn't help but shiver. His last words and the look in his eyes had been so cold that she was genuinely starting to worry.

"He's going to retaliate against you," Natalie said, looking at Marico.

Marico, however, still seemed completely unfazed. "I'm not even afraid of Theodore. Why would I be afraid of him?"

Seeing Marico's bruised and swollen face, Natalie cleared her throat. "You should come upstairs. I'll put something on those cuts."

Marico immediately pretended to be in immense pain. "Ouch! Natalie, I got hurt for you. You have to repay me!"

These days, Penelope was splitting her time between the hospital and Theodore's house. Donald was out of critical condition and recovering quickly, though he would need to stay in the hospital for another month. Hans had been discharged and had taken back control of the Bishop Group.

As for Yvonne and Judy, Donald had only mentioned them once. He didn't press charges, instead sending them abroad, which was more than generous.

Theodore had been very busy lately, so the responsibility of looking after the twins had fallen on Penelope's shoulders.

She had just returned from the hospital that day and walked in to find the house had practically flooded. Hubert was splashing around in a mud puddle, sending specks of dirt flying everywhere. Lilian was splattered with mud but could do nothing but continue sweeping the water out, bracing against the onslaught.

Theodore's villa had gardens and lawns in both the front and back. In the less than a month Hubert had been living there, the garden flowers had died, the lawn had withered, and it was riddled with one hole after another. An outsider would have thought some animal had been digging up the yard.

"Hubert Laurier!" Penelope roared.

When Hubert saw her, he scurried into the house like a mouse seeing a cat.

Lilian straightened up, holding her lower back, her face a mask of misery. "Ms. Laurier, when does the young master start school?"

"Don't!" Mrs. Stapleton stopped her immediately. "Hubert is wonderful just the way he is. I wish Julian were a little more mischievous."

At the mention of Julian, Penelope remembered he had a violin lesson today.

"He left early this morning. Said he couldn't practice peacefully at home, so he wanted to go to the studio early to get some extra time in."

Julian's got it all figured out for a kid — doesn't need anyone breathing down his neck.

Penelope and Mrs. Stapleton actually chatted for a while, with none of their usual tension.

Someone called Mrs. Stapleton's phone. Penelope was about to give her some privacy, but after a few steps, she heard Mrs. Stapleton exclaim, "You found him? Where? I'll be right there!"

Hearing that, Penelope stopped in her tracks.
