The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 694

Before he could finish his sentence, Theodore grabbed him by the collar and slammed a fist into his face.

The scene erupted into chaos. Penelope rushed to pull Theodore back, but he shoved her away and landed several more heavy blows, making Dominic scream in pain.

“Help! I’m calling the police! Theodore’s lost his mind, he’s crazy just like his mother! He’s trying to kill me!”

Mr. Stapleton Sr. shouted for Theodore to stop, but he didn't listen.

He tried to restrain Theodore himself but couldn't.

Theodore's eyes were bloodshot as he relentlessly punched Dominic, as if determined to beat him to death. Everyone watched in shock. In that moment, Theodore was no longer the calm, decisive leader of Zenith Group; he looked like a true madman.

Penelope told Julian to watch Hubert, then rushed forward and wrapped her arms around Theodore’s arm.

“You can’t hit him anymore!” she cried.

Theodore tried to push her away, but Penelope held on with all her might.

“Theodore!” she shouted, then lowered her voice so only he could hear, “You’ve walked right into their trap!”

Theodore turned to look at her, the crimson rage in his eyes slowly receding.

“What did you say?”

“It’s obvious! They know your weakness, and they set this whole thing up!”

Theodore’s gaze steadied. He looked at the taxidermied wolf, then replayed the events in his mind. It was painfully obvious. He had been played.

“Let go of me. I’m calm now.”

Only then did Penelope release him.

Theodore straightened his clothes and looked at the stunned crowd. He took a deep breath, then squatted down and grabbed Dominic by the collar again.

“Tell me. Who told you to give me this?”

Dominic had expected to get hit, but not this brutally. Seeing the ferocity in Theodore’s eyes, he was sure that if Penelope hadn’t intervened, he would have been beaten to death.

“Theo!” Mr. Stapleton Sr. snapped. “Have you forgotten what today is?”

Theodore restrained himself. He didn’t hit Dominic again, but he made no attempt to salvage the situation either. Instead, he turned and walked toward the exit.

“Theo! All our guests are here, you…”

“Grandfather, he wants Zenith Group, doesn’t he? I’ll give it to him!”

“What nonsense are you talking!”

“As of today, I resign from all my positions at Zenith Group!”

After saying this, Theodore looked back at his grandfather, silently mouthing the words ‘I’m sorry,’ before turning and striding out of the room.

Mr. Stapleton Sr.’s vision went dark, and he swayed on his feet.

Penelope quickly steadied him, whispering, “Give him some time. It’s better than pushing him to the breaking point.”
