The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 706

Theodore nearly spat out his drink. He quickly set the bottle down and strode over to grab Hubert, who was touching everything in sight.

"Who brought you here?"

"Mom, of course," Julian huffed. "Are you drunk? You never used to ask such stupid questions."

Theodore took a deep breath. He was just too stunned.

"Where's your mother now?"

"She dropped us off at the door and left."

"Left? Did she say anything?"

"No."

Julian shook his head, then seemed to remember something. "Dad, we should go home. I still have homework to do."

"Dad, I haven't had dinner yet," Hubert chimed in, more concerned about food.

Theodore had no choice but to take them home. Hamilton and the others were trying to suppress their laughter. A man with kids couldn't just do whatever he wanted.

Theodore brought the two boys to Penelope's house. As soon as they walked in, he saw her placing freshly cooked dishes on the table, then urging the three of them to go wash their hands.

For a moment, Theodore felt a sense of disorientation, but he went to wash his hands first. He came out before the boys and cornered Penelope in the kitchen.

"What do you mean?"

Penelope raised an eyebrow. "Are they my children alone?"

"So?"

"Because I took over Zenith Tech, I'm incredibly busy every day. I don't have time to look after them. I need you to handle school drop-offs and pick-ups, help with their homework, and take care of them."

Theodore snorted. "Is this your counterattack?"

"Listen, the kids are fighting in the bathroom again. You should probably go handle that," Penelope said, giving him a little push.

And that was a job he couldn't push onto Penelope, especially since he'd already pushed Zenith Tech onto her.

Theodore grunted, and the two boys, still a bit afraid of him, immediately quieted down.

"You apologize to your brother first. Then, he will apologize to you."

Both of them found this outcome acceptable, so they exchanged apologies.

Back at the dinner table, the two boys complained about how bad Penelope's cooking was while simultaneously shoveling it into their mouths.

After eating, they went to do their homework.

"I know you don't have money or a place to live right now. I've cleared out a room for you on the second floor."

Theodore took a bite of vegetables and winced. She had used way too much salt.

"I'm hiring you as a manny."
