The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 771

Penelope finally understood what it meant to shoot herself in the foot. A billion dollars was a massive fortune, but ten rounds of passion were equally as overwhelming.

By the time the sun began to peek through the curtains, she was so exhausted she could barely speak. She silently swore never to make such wild claims again. Meanwhile, Theodore gazed down at her with a wicked smirk.

"We still have one more round."

Penelope's eyes widened. "You... you animal!"

Theodore merely chuckled, stating that he hated leaving debts unpaid, so he had to make sure this final round was thoroughly settled. Amidst Penelope's breathless pleas, they tumbled back into the heat of the moment.

Thankfully, the next day was Saturday, and there was no work.

The two of them slept until noon before leaving the hotel. They headed to a highly-rated upscale bistro nearby and ordered a few dishes.

"So this is what a real date feels like. I love it," Penelope said, giving Theodore a flirtatious wink.

Theodore's eyes narrowed playfully. "If you love it that much, should we head back to the hotel after this?"

Penelope quickly shook her head. "I said I love the feeling of a date, not the hotel bed!"

Theodore laughed. "I love both."

"How about we head to the beach this afternoon and stay at the villa there tonight?"

"Sounds like a plan," Theodore agreed, arching an eyebrow. "Do you suddenly feel a chill down your spine?"

"Not really a chill, just a feeling that someone is watching us..." Penelope trailed off as she glanced up. Standing just a few feet away, glaring daggers at them, were Hubert and Julian, holding little Kristin by the hand.

Penelope nearly choked on her water. "You... you already looked behind you, didn't you."

Theodore had indeed spotted them. He rubbed his nose and whispered to Penelope, "Date paused. We'll have to try harder next time."

Penelope nodded and immediately plastered on a bright smile.

"I'm only giving you one chance. Are you sure you want to waste it on nonsense?"

Hubert instantly changed his tune. "We want to go to the amusement park!"

Penelope gently tapped Hubert's forehead. "So you guys had an ulterior motive for tracking us down!"

"Obviously." Julian maintained his serious demeanor. "Weekends are meant for both adults and kids to unwind. You two have already had your fun, so now it's our turn. It's only fair!"

Penelope immediately caught the loophole in his logic. "So, every week, we get one day to ourselves to relax?"

"Half a day."

"Why only half a day?"

"Because you two overachieved and had twins. If you split two days into three portions, you're only left with half a day."
