Chapter 10 Apologize to Whitney
Ryan was an absolute legend in the industry. Just one word from him could wipe out everything Emily had worked for.
Emily didn’t even have to check to know the live chat was roasting her, laughing at her, and tearing her apart right now.
‘It should’ve been Whitney getting roasted in the chat right now, Emily thought. ‘Why did Ryan have to step in for Whitney?‘
Behind Emily’s innocent, aggrieved gaze, a flash of malice flickered deep in her eyes. She stared daggers at Whitney’s pretty face, which was radiant.
‘If I’d known, I would’ve messed up Whitney’s face back at the house. Let’s see her try to charm guys with that ruined face, Emily thought angrily.
But she refused to believe that someone like Ryan could be swayed by Whitney’s looks. [Isn’t Whitney going a bit far? It really feels like she’s picking on Emily.]
[She was practically glued to Chase yesterday, and now that Chase is treating Emily so well, she’s jealous, plain and simple.]
[Why would Ryan help someone like Whitney, a viper girl?]
[Whitney’s such a fox. She never takes a break, always going after whoever’s hot right now.]
All of a sudden, a flood of comments popped up in the live chat.
Anyone with half a brain could tell these were paid trolls trying to stir up drama and
steer the conversation.
But these days, people had been through all kinds of online drama. Nothing fazed them anymore.
Now that Ryan’s name was being thrown into the mix, Ryan’s fans couldn’t hold back
anymore.
[Are Chase and his fans blind or what? Seriously, can’t you tell who’s actually causing all the drama?]
[I went back and watched the replay before the stream ended. Whitney’s foot was really hurt, and there was blood everywhere. It was live. No way that much blood could be faked.]
[But look at Emily. Her foot wasn’t even rod with not a drop of blood, but she’s wrapped up like a mummy. So wh Successfully unlocked! sympathy here?]
[Why did Ryan help Whitney? Because he saw through Emily’s viper girl tricks.]
Chapter 10 Apologize to Whitney
[Ryan’s got a reputation for spotting fakes. Emily’s acy is way too simple for him.]
Do you fans even realize Chase got physical with a woman?]
[Ryan helping the weak is so cool!]
[Weak? Whitney? Please, she’s got guts. She’s just a regular person, but she’s not afraid to go up against Chase or the Anderson family. The way she stands her ground is seriously badass.]
[Whitney’s got every reason to be tough, but Emily looks guilty no matter how I look at it.]
[I went back and checked the replay of Whitney falling down the slope yesterday. She wasn’t lying. She took that fall for Chase. That makes her his lifesaver, doesn’t it?] [I heard that because Emily hurt her foot, Chase started throwing his weight around and wouldn’t let the production team help Whitney out.]
[Doesn’t Chase’s conscience hurt, treating his lifesaver like that?]
[No wonder Whitney’s calling those two out. If it were me, I’d have given him a slap right then and there.]
No matter how hard the paid trolls tried to manipulate the narrative, the crowd saw right through it.
And once Chase’s betrayal of Whitney was exposed, the internet was flooded with people slamming him.
Some people tried to defend him, saying he was just too worried about Emily to care about anyone else.
But that made people roast him even harder.
[That’s his own business if he wants to dote on Emily.]
[Emily is his sister, not everyone else’s. Why should the others treat her like she’s some kind of princess because he does?]
[Just because he’s protective of Emily, does that mean he gets to push everyone around?]
The viewers were totally invested, and they were getting pissed off.
Because Emily looked so guilty, some people went digging through all the guests‘ replays, hunting down every possible camera angle of Whitney’s fall down the slope during the live stream.
In no time, hashtags like [ChaseHitAWoman,] [ChaseAbusingHisPower,] [ EmilylsAViperGirl,] and more shot straight to the top of the trending list.
If Chase had known that what he thought was just a normal reaction would blow up, he’d definitely regret not keeping his cool in front of the cameras.

But right now, Ryan had Chase’s wrist in a nonchalant grip, and he gave it a shake. His gaze was icy and aloof as he said, “Apologize.”
That shake pulled at Chase’s injured wrist, sending sharp, ripping pain through his bones, making him gasp in agony.
He almost instantly blurted out, “I’m sorry, Mr. Pierce.”
Ryan lowered his long lashes, his expression cool and distant, as he casually pushed Chase toward Whitney. “The one you need to apologize to isn’t me.”
Chase stumbled a few steps, his face drenched in cold sweat from the pain, his bloodshot eyes fixed fiercely on Whitney.
His glare was a clear warning to Whitney, telling her to back off.
‘Me, bowing to Whitney? Apologizing to her? Dream on! She’s my sister. No way Whitney would actually force me to apologize, right? Whitney wouldn’t dare,‘ Chase thought.
His eyes were burning with even more hostility as he glared at Whitney.
He wanted Whitney to give in or even to swallow her pride and apologize to him.
But Whitney stared right back at him, her eyes sharp and striking, lifting in a teasing arch. She looked effortlessly charming, but there was a chill in her gaze that made it clear she didn’t care at all.
“Honestly, I’d kind of enjoy watching you apologize, even though I’d never actually accept it,” Whitney said.
Her crimson lips moved slowly, letting those cold words slip out, sharp as a knife.
Chase’s eyes nearly popped out of his head, his face a mask of utter disbelief.
Whitney curled her lips into a smirk. “What’s wrong, Mr. Superstar? Not willing to apologize?”

The moment Whitney finished speaking, Ryan’s hand clamped down even harder on
Chase’s wrist.
Already hurting down to the bone, Chase couldn’t take it anymore and cried out in pain.
‘Ryan’s really backing Whitney,‘ Chase thought.
He glanced at the camera and then at Ryan, whose expression was icy and aloof.
He knew once Ryan got involved, this wouldn’t be over until he apologized. Anyway, Whitney was his sister; he had plenty of chances and time to make her pay later.
Chase took a deep breath, forcing himself to swallow all that anger..
He was just about to speak. Suddenly, Emily burst into tears and rushed over,

desperately trying to cling to Ryan’s hand, the one holding Chase’s wrist.
“Ryan, it’s all my fault. I’m willing to apologize to Whitney, just please, don’t hurt Chase anymore,” Emily sobbed.
She lunged forward. Her whole body was tilting toward him.
At the very moment her hand was about to reach Ryan, and she was on the verge of falling into his arms, with quick reflexes, Ryan swiftly released Chase’s arm.
He sidestepped, dodging Emily in time.
Chase and Emily went down hard, hitting the floor together.
Emily’s eyes turned red from the pain as she sat on the floor, biting her lip, looking all aggrieved and giving Ryan a look that practically screamed, “This is all your fault.”
