Chapter 164 Cracking the Code
the thought, “Who could possibly link Vee, the unbeatable, undisputed number one hacker in the world, to Whitney, a
nineteen–year–old girl?”
Taylor, whose real name was Charlie Taylor, was practically squealing with excitement when he got a call from Vee asking to meet up. He could barely believe it.
He kept agonizing in his head, wondering if he should call her “Vee” or maybe “Ms. Vee” where they finally met face–to–face.
He never thought that his idol and goddess were actually the same person, a girl barely a year older than him.
“Calm down. I’m Vee,” Whitney said, shooting him a glance before tossing the phone his way. “Hurry up and get to work.”
Charlie hurried to catch the phone, his eyes still locked on Whitney, unable to tear himself away.
He was scared this was all a dream.
He thought, ‘I am meeting both of his idols at the same time.‘
Whitney turned and headed toward Ryan’s villa.
Charlie immediately trotted after her, practically bouncing with excitement.
“Whitney, where are you going? What are you going to do with my phone?” Kayla called out, seeing that Whitney had taken her phone and wasn’t bothering to respond to her.
Whitney shot her a cool glance and told the bodyguards, “Lock her up somewhere. Once we’ve cracked the phone, toss her out.”
Kayla was stunned. She yelled, “Whitney, what do you mean by that?”
She scrambled to her feet, desperate to lunge at Whitney, but the bodyguards quickly shoved her back down to the ground.
‘Did Whitney bring me here to take my phone?‘ Kayla thought.
As if she could read Kayla’s thoughts, Whitney shot her another cool, indifferent look. “Didn’t I save your life?”
Kayla’s throat felt like it was stuffed with cotton. She opened her mouth, but all that came out were a few helpless, furious yelps.
She couldn’t argue with Whitney’s words.
But seeing Whitney standing there, all high and mighty, talking about how she saved Kayla, made Kayla’s blood boil.
It was worse than being killed.
She thought, ‘My whole acting career was destroyed, and I couldn’t show my face in public anymore, all thanks to those two heiresses, real and fake.
‘I got caught up in their drama, even though I am a regular person.
They were both the ones who ruined my life.
Why should I have to be grateful to Whitney now?‘
It seemed that bad people never admit that they’re wrong.
They blamed everyone else for their own misfortune.
Whitney couldn’t be bothered to deal with Kayla anymore.
She didn’t care what happened to Kayla in the end.
Whatever happened to Kayla after she got tossed out of Prestige Manor wasn’t Whitney’s concern.
As long as she got what she wanted, that was all that mattered.
The three of them walked into the villa.
Charlie stared at Whitney’s silhouette, still feeling like he was in a dream.
He thought, ‘Getting to see my new goddess up close, and realizing she is actually the idol I’d worshipped for years, is it real?
‘How insanely lucky do I have to be to get this kind of happiness?‘
Charlie scampered over, practically bouncing with excitement as he sidled up to her. “Vee Oh, Whitney. I pulled off the task perfectly with the audio and video you sent me. Did you catch it?”
Whitney nodded. “Good job.”
Chapter 164 Cracking the Code
The unexpected audio and video that appeared on Emily’s phone were all Charlie’s handiwork.
Hack when they were filming on the wild island, Whitney had already transferred the audio Ryan sent her to her own phone.
She’d also copied the video from Kayla’s phone onto her own.
The production team’s phones were professionally configured. They could only contact designated people and had no internet access whatsoever.
But that kind of phone was no challenge for Whitney.
Just exposing the audio or the video alone wouldn’t pack nearly as much punch as dropping both at the same time.
So that’s how it went down. Emily, right in the middle of a live variety show, had the audio and video exposed straight from her own phone for everyone to see.
No matter how hard Emily tried, she couldn’t shut her phone off.
Because Charlie had total control over her phone.
Charlie was so thrilled by Whitney’s praise that he was practically wagging his tail.
He grinned from ear to ear. “Whitney, is there anything else you need me to do? Say the word, and I’ll do anything.”
As he spoke, he gave his scrawny chest a proud pat.
Ryan watched from the side, feeling a bit sour inside.
He pursed his lips and thought, ‘So what if he’s good at hacking?
‘If Whitney taught me herself, I’d totally surpass that punk in less than a year.‘
But right now, he didn’t have an official place in Whitney’s life, and it was obvious she had some real business for that punk to handle.
He couldn’t get jealous over nothing.
So he stuck close behind Whitney, doing his best to make sure she didn’t forget he was there.
Whitney glanced at Ryan, who was hovering around her and quietly edging Charlie aside, but she didn’t bother to call him
