Chapter 163 Are They the Same Person?
Whitney’s presence was like a queen who couldn’t care less about her subjects, so proud and untouchable.
Kayla hated Whitney.
But right now, she had to admit that she was totally floored by Whitney’s vibe.
Kayla’s eyes went wide as she stared at Whitney in disbelief, having no clue how she wound up in this situation.
It wasn’t until she saw the bodyguard hand her phone over to Whitney that she snapped back to reality.
“Whitney. Are these your people? What are you trying to pull?” Kayla blurted out.
After the show wrapped, Kayla called her assistant and told him to wait for her at the back door.
She’d booked a flight out of the country.
With 6 million dollars in hand, she was planning to disappear overseas for a while.
But as soon as she stepped out of the studio and into the elevator, she was stopped by a group of bodyguards.
Kayla was freaking out, about to yell for help, when one of them shut her down with a chilling threat. He said, “If you don’t want to die, come with us.”
Kayla definitely didn’t want to die.
She’d gotten 6 million dollars from Emily and was about to start living her best life, free from the Andersons.
“Emily won’t spare you,” the bodyguard said coldly. “All four exits of the TV station are crawling with her people. Step outside, and you won’t see another sunrise.”
Kayla slapped a hand over her mouth, terrified into silence.
She knew it was the truth.
She’d totally screwed Emily over on the livestream. If Emily’s people got their hands on her, there was no way Ernily would let her walk away.
She was about to face a hell worse than what the Andersons had made her suffer last time.
She might not make it out alive.
Kayla figured that with Emily getting dragged off by Brandon, she’d have her own mess to deal with and wouldn’t care about her at all.
She thought she could make her escape overseas while everyone was distracted.
But Emily had already set everything up.
Kayla thought, ‘No wonder she agreed so fast and really transferred the 6 million dollars.
Back then, Emily had already made up her mind to take the 6 million dollars back after the show ended.‘
Kayla was scared of Emily, but facing these big, intimidating bodyguards, she felt nervous. “But how do I know I can trust you?”
‘If you come with us, you’ll be safe from Emily’s people,” the bodyguard said.
Kayla really had no choice.
In the end, she meekly followed the bodyguards, not daring to resist.
She thought, ‘If Emily’s people got their hands on me, I’d be dead for sure.
At least these bodyguards are here to help me avoid Emily, so maybe I’d actually make it out alive.’
But as soon as Kayla got into the bodyguards‘ car, she blacked out.
When she came to, she found herself face–to–face with Whitney.
Whitney took Kayla’s phone, her expression cool and indifferent. “You should be thanking me. If it weren’t for me, you’d already be in Emily’s hands.”
“So what? Getting grabbed by her or by you. What’s the difference?” Kayla shot back, anger tightening her voice.
Whitney arched an eyebrow. “The difference? I couldn’t care less if you live or die.”
Kayla’s eyes reddened, but she couldn’t argue with that. She gritted her teeth and asked, “What do you want?”
“Nothing much,” Whitney replied, unlocking Kayla’s phone with her fingerprint as if she owned it.
Kayla stared at Whitney’s actions, her voice trembling with panic. “Are you trying to take the money Emily gave me for

hot & uillion dollars was all she had left
Whitney let out a soft, mocking laugh and shot Kayla a look as if she were watching a clown. “You know I live in Prestige Manor. Do you really think I’d bother with your 6 million dollars?”
Kayla was left speechless.
Honestly, Kayla still couldn’t wrap her head around the fact that Whitney actually owned a villa in Prestige Manor.
She was convinced it was Ryan’s place, even though Ryan had already gone public, saying it wasn’t his.
She thought, ‘But if Whitney can live in a villa at Prestige Manor because of Ryan, it really shows that Whitney doesn’t need that 6 million dollars at all.
‘Wait a second.’
“How do you know Emily gave me 6 million dollars?” Kayla blurted out, her voice shaking. She’d never told anyone the exact
amount.
Whitney tapped a few times on the screen, then turned it toward Kayla, her tone almost mocking. “Transfer records.”
Kayla was stunned.
She thought, ‘Who the hell is she?
How did she manage to unlock my phone with my fingerprint?
And how did she get into my online banking?
How is Whitney capable of this?‘
Just then, Whitney’s phone rang.
She picked up and said, “Wait at the door. I’ll have someone come get you.”
Whitney glanced at Ryan.
Ryan gave one of the bodyguards a subtle nod.
The bodyguard hurried off to get the person.
About ten minutes later, the bodyguard came back, leading a tall, strikingly handsome young man in overalls. He looked about 6 feet. He was clearly young, energetic, and had a face that could turn heads anywhere.
The guy couldn’t stop gawking at the luxurious surroundings, clearly impressed by all the fancy decor.
When his eyes landed on Whitney, they lit up instantly. “Whitney.”
He dashed past the bodyguard and rushed straight up to Whitney, practically shouting with excitement, “Whitney, I’m such
a huge fan. Oh, my god, I’m obsessed with you. Can you sign something for me?”
He was so hyped, his eyes sparkling as he stared at Whitney, arms wide open, about to give her a massive bear hug.

Just as he was about to hug Whitney, a tall figure stepped in and blocked his way.
“Ryan,” the guy yelped, his excitement going through the roof. “Oh, my god. I knew it. I knew it. The couple is real.”
Whitney was momentarily speechless.
