Chapter 167 Everything Can Be Cracked
Someone thought, ‘If something this dangerous and deadly got out, people wouldn’t know how they died.‘
Seeing everyone talking excitedly, Davis jumped in and said, “Yeah, I’m worried about that, too.
“So, after days and nights of nonstop research, the Medical Association has finally come up with a formula to drive out bugs.
“We’re still testing it, but I believe that, given a little more time, we’ll figure out the quickest way to get rid of bugs with our Medical Association skills.”
Everyone froze for a second, then started clapping like crazy. They were totally blown away and surprised.
Seeing how serious Davis was, and knowing the whole Medical Association had been working nonstop, they realized this was the real deal.
What really blew their minds was that bugs could be handled with Medical Association techniques.
Everyone was buzzing about bugs.
Meanwhile, in the crowd, Whitney and Ryan were sitting in the third row, close to the stage.
They watched Davis’s lecture and listened to the buzz around them, then exchanged a knowing smile.
As Davis kept hyping up the crowd, Ryan stood up and flashed Davis a smile.
He said, “Since you have already found one bug, there must be plenty more lurking out there. If someone with bad
intentions gets their hands on them and uses them to cause harm to countless innocent people, that’d be a real disaster.
‘So, the Pierce family is willing to invest and partner with the Medical Association to develop this formula.
‘What do you think, Davis?”
As soon as Ryan made his presence known, the whole place went wild.
And when he spoke up, the excitement exploded to a whole new level.
Davis looked at Ryan in surprise, then broke into a big smile. “Mr. Pierce. Absolutely. It’s an honor for the Medical Association.”
As he spoke, Davis pulled out a sealed envelope and waved it at Ryan. “Inside is the formula I wrote. If you’re willing to invest and work with us, the Medical Association will hand it over to you for safekeeping.”
Whitney held her phone in one hand, casually scrolling through the screen as she clicked her tongue.
She thought, ‘These two are really putting on a good show.
Ryan was a natural at this. No surprise, since he was an award–winning actor.
And Davis? He is really giving it his all. His acting is surprisingly good.”
That was right.
Davis brought up bugs, and the formula at the conference was all a show.
It was all part of a scheme to draw out the mastermind behind the scenes.
If Ryan showed any interest in the formula, the mastermind wouldn’t dare take that gamble. They wouldn’t know whether Ryan was interested because he knew about the bug in his body, or if he saw a business opportunity.
Plus, with Ryan and Davis spending so much time together, and Davis being able to research the bugs and come up with a formula to suppress them, it’d be hard for Davis not to notice there was a bug hidden inside Ryan.
So, the mastermind would have to make a move.
Right now, every single security camera in the hall, even those hidden in the corners, was streaming straight to Whitney’s phone.
They had no clue what kind of move the mastermind would make to figure out if Ryan really knew about the bug inside him, or what tricks they’d use to block Ryan from teaming up with the Medical Association.
Just as Ryan got up and made his way to the stage, looking like he was about to shake hands with Davis and grab the formula, a clear voice cut through the noise. “Mr. Pierce, hold on a sec.”
It was a middle–aged man standing up in the tenth row.
Anyone in showbiz would spot him right away. It was Evan, a big shot at Roynfort Broadcasting.
He grinned and said, “Hey, with something this good going on, you gotta count me in. I’ve always had a thing for bugs, and

it’s no easy feat for the Medical Association to finally start researching them.
Win for the investment and want to be part of the research team.”
Davis looked a bit embarrassed. “Sorry, but since this is a brand–new project, we only need one investor for now.” Evan looked disappointed for a moment, but quickly turned to Ryan with genuine sincerity. “Mr. Pierce, I’m honestly fascinated by this. I hope you’ll give up your spot and let me have this opportunity Help me fulfill my dream.”
Everyone around was stunned.
They couldn’t believe Evan actually had the nerve to stand up and challenge Ryan, the future heir of the Pierce family, for the investment spot.
People might think that Evan was so obsessed with bug research that he didn’t care about Ryan’s status anymore.
They wondered if Ryan would actually step aside and let Evan have the opportunity.
With everyone watching, Ryan chuckled confidently. “Director Rowe, you know the rule. First come, first served, right?”
He wasn’t about to give up his spot.
Meanwhile, Ryan glanced at Whitney out of the corner of his eye.
Whitney had already hacked into Evan’s phone from her own device.
It only took Whitney two minutes to copy everything from Evan’s phone straight onto hers.
Whitney stood up, subtly hooking her finger around Ryan’s as she slipped away toward another hallway that led to the
restrooms.
Everyone was focused on the lecture, so the hallway was completely empty.
It was the perfect chance for Whitney to make her move.
She sent all the data over to Charlie’s computer, letting him handle the deep decryption.
Trying to do all that on her phone would’ve been a pain.
