Their Punching Bag Became The Storm novel Chapter 33

Chapter 33 Made Up Stories

The two teams had not managed to gather much food.

Most of what Henry found was meant for dinner, and Bella and he pretty much finished it off the night before.

As for Jason and Kayla, they only had three bags of food to begin with. They barely filled their stomachs last night, so there was not much left.

Jason, Kayla, and Bella stared at their pitiful breakfast, which was not even enough for the three of them. Then they glanced over at Whitney’s group, where the other teams were happily mooching food and drinks while the place filled with laughter and chatter. Each of them felt left out and miserable.

They could tell that Chase and Emily were not exactly on good terms with Whitney. If they tried to shamelessly mooch food like Henry did, and Chase and Emily found out, the siblings would definitely hold a grudge against them.

They didn’t dare risk losing their chance to suck up to Chase and Emily for a single meal. So for the sake of a better future, they could only grit their teeth and put up with it for now.

None of the three really knew how to cook. They could barely make the food edible. Originally, they only wanted to split their meager rations and eat enough to stop being hungry.

Kayla, always smooth with her words, said, “Wait, Chase and Emily haven’t had breakfast yet. Why don’t we bring them some?”

Jason and Bella’s faces fell. The same thought hung between them: they barely had enough for themselves. There was no way they could give any away.

But what came out of Jason’s mouth was different. “Yeah, those guys only look out for themselves, but we can’t leave Chase and Emily out,” Jason said.

Bella smiled and took out two white porcelain plates. She split the bread in half, cut the corn into two pieces, and arranged the sweet potato neatly on the plates. It actually looked pretty decent.

But when the three of them saw that all they had left was one lonely piece of bread and half a sweet potato, they were nearly in tears.

Bella grabbed the plates, ready to deliver breakfast to Chase and Emily.

But Jason and Kayla weren’t about to let her have all the credit. They wanted in on the

action too.

After some arguing, they agreed to go together.

Chase and Emily were still lying on their stretchers, looking pale and miserable.

Jason, Kayla, and Bella crowded around, fussing over them like they were their personal caretakers.,

Chase and Emily were about to lose it. They couldn’t stand all the attention.

But with the camera crew following right behind the trio, they had no choice but to grit their teeth and hold back their frustration.

The worst part was that the three kept repeating how they had skipped breakfast so Chase and Emily could eat.

Chase and Emily had no chance to snap back. All they could do was force a smile and suffer through the awkwardness. They had to keep pretending for the cameras.

Emily put on her most grateful face and said all sorts of touching things. But the moment she saw what was actually on the plate, her expression twisted for a split second before she could stop it.

‘Seriously? This pathetic excuse for food? They really think I would eat this?’ she thought.

Chase’s expression shifted too.

Then a teasing voice came from the side. “Chase, Emily, I heard you two got poisoned by wild mushrooms, so I thought I would come check on you myself.”

Everyone turned to see Elian walking over with a plate in his hands.

After finishing his sentence, Elian took a big bite of his spaghetti bolognese and made it look incredibly tasty.

The closer he got, the stronger the irresistible smell from his plate drifted over and hit everyone right in the nose. It made their stomachs growl like crazy.

Seeing everyone staring at his plate, Elian showed it off with a smug grin and shook his spaghetti for effect. “Whitney’s cooking is absolutely amazing. This spaghetti bolognese is the best I have ever tasted.”

He took another big mouthful, still smiling with his cheeks stuffed. “Getting to eat Whitney’s breakfast? Man, I’m so happy right now.”

Everyone was left speechless.

Chase and Emily were especially mad.

The three hung their heads, totally humiliated, but didn’t dare say a word.

Once he finished laying into them, the doctor checked on Chase and Emily, gave them a few reminders, and then went off to prepare their medication. The live chat instantly exploded.

[No wonder I haven’t seen Chase or Emily since the stream started. They actually got poisoned.]

[How did Chase get poisoned? And why is it only the two of them? Production team,

don’t you think you owe us an explanation?]

Chase comes on your show and ends up poisoned? These are your safety measures?

If

you don’t give us a proper explanation today, we’re reporting you.]

[How is it possible that only Chase and Emily got poisoned? I seriously suspect someone on the production team is targeting them on purpose. The production team needs to look into Whitney. She’s the one who has always had a problem with Chase and Emily.]

[Are Chase’s fans nuts or what? You’re making stuff up as you go? Got any proof? You really think you can run your mouth online and not get in trouble?]

[Some fans are honestly hilarious. If you’re joining a survival show, you better be ready for things to go wrong. Didn’t Whitney have her foot bleeding like crazy yesterday?]

[If Chase’s fans are so sensitive, tell your idol to quit the show. Survival shows aren’t for crybabies.]
