Celestine ducked her head, trying to hide a smile.
“Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is about to start. You should stop working, change your clothes, and get ready to go on,” Crystal Lennox said with a warm smile.
Celestine gave a thumbs-up.
This was the first time she had ever attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a product she had designed.
Besides the casual clothes she wore while helping in the store, Celestine had also brought a pale pink gown.
It wasn't too flashy, but it was just as festive as the long red dress Crystal Lennox was wearing.
Outside the Velvet Noir store, a row of grand opening flower arrangements had already been delivered. They had even hired entertainers and a live band to perform, drawing a large, lively crowd.
After Celestine changed, Violet Rockwell, Flossie, and the others arrived from the office.
“Celly, you’re incredible! Hahaha, the company’s telemarketing department almost crashed this morning from all the sales!”
Flossie immediately gave Celestine a big hug.
However, mindful of her injured left hand, she was careful not to be too rough.
They had visited Celestine with Crystal Lennox while she was still in the hospital.
Violet pulled Flossie back. “You’re so reckless. Don’t go and break Celly’s arm again when it’s just about to heal.”
“I’m fine,” Celestine said, adjusting the cast that was almost ready to come off. She smiled. “I heard there were a lot of new online visitors too. Thanks for all your hard work.”
Because of the sudden, unexpected surge in orders, Flossie and Violet had been pulled into the operations department to help out. They had been busy all morning and had only just made it before the ceremony.
“It was nothing, really. In fact, I hope we get to be this ‘overworked’ more often,” Flossie said with a grin.
Violet teased, “Tsk, tsk. Would you still be saying that if you weren’t getting five times the overtime pay?”
“Violet, let’s not talk about that. Money talk ruins friendships!”
Flossie quickly changed the subject. “Celly, you look absolutely stunning today! You have no idea how many people were watching the livestream just to see you!”
Celestine felt a little embarrassed by the compliments.
At the entrance, a pickup truck filled with flower baskets pulled up.
Since she had left home early today, she had already told him he could deliver it later.
She never expected to run into him at the Velvet Noir store.
“Your friend arranged for all of this. I was originally going to deliver it to your place, but since you’re here, I figured I’d just give it to you now!” the delivery guy explained.
“Okay, thank you,” Celestine said with a faint smile as she accepted the bouquet.
When she turned around, she met the teasing gazes of Flossie and Violet.
“Friends~”
“What kind of friends~”
They both raised their eyebrows at the same time.
Celestine waved her hands, laughing. “Just regular friends, don’t get the wrong idea.”
But it was clear from their expressions that they didn't believe her.
