Thorns Grow After Betrayal (Celeste and Chester) novel Chapter 364

The next day, Celestine took a cab to work.

Due to traffic, the ride took an hour, and she was almost late.

Buying a new car and renovating the apartment had to be dealt with as soon as possible.

When she got to the office, she clocked in right on the dot.

"Celly, you're amazing. If I were you, I'd be late thirty days a month and get fired for sure."

Yolande's voice dripped with sarcasm as she passed by on her way to get water.

After yesterday's incident, Celestine had completely given up on her.

She put down her bag and ignored her.

Yolande rolled her eyes.

Such a stuck-up snob.

One day, that chief designer position would be hers.

Yolande rubbed her lower back and strolled cheerfully to the boss's office.

"That Yolande has such a nasty mouth. Everything is a crime in her eyes."

Flossie couldn't stand it and started complaining to Celestine the moment she returned to her desk. "She's always running to the boss's office! If you didn't know better, you'd think she and Mr. Kelsey were having an affair."

"Shh." Celestine glanced around at the others, and only when she was sure no one was paying attention did she speak. "You might not mean anything by it, but you never know who's listening."

Flossie nodded wisely. "Celly, where did you end up sleeping last night?"

She remembered that when she left yesterday, the little girl was enthusiastically trying to convince Celestine to stay at their house.

"We're staying at Cynthia's place. I'll take Raymond back once the apartment is renovated."

Flossie nodded, a look of relief on her face.

"That's good. Otherwise, I'd start to think I'm a walking disaster."

"How could you say that? Don't be silly," Celestine said, surprised. "If anything, I feel like I'm the one who brings bad luck wherever I go."

"Hahahahahaha..."

The two of them chatted and laughed on their way to the restroom. When they came back, a group of people was crowded outside the conference room.
