Thorns Grow After Betrayal (Celeste and Chester) novel Chapter 363

Cynthia, chattering like a machine gun, explained the whole situation to Gideon.

"I see." Gideon's brow furrowed as he looked at Celestine. "I'm sorry. This troublemaker is partly responsible for what happened to your apartment. You can stay here until it's renovated. There's no rush to move back."

Celestine instinctively replied, "That would be too much trouble for you. It's really fine. If it's a real problem, I'll just find another place to rent for a while."

"Celly, wouldn't that be even more trouble? Our places are so close, staying here wouldn't disrupt your daily life at all," Gideon gently persuaded.

Seeing Celestine hesitate, Raymond's heart pounded in his chest.

If they really moved into that chubby girl's house, wouldn't that just give them more opportunities to get close?

How infuriating! He knew they had a plan all along!

Raymond tugged on Celestine's hand. "Mom, it's okay. The water didn't get into the bedrooms. We can sleep there tonight."

"Water-damaged walls are at risk of collapsing, and bacteria will grow, making it easier to get sick," Gideon stated calmly.

He had already learned what happened when Celestine sent the message asking to use the kitchen.

Since he didn't have much work tonight, he had come back early to check on things.

Celestine conceded. "Alright, then. We'll be imposing on you."

If Raymond got sick, it would be another huge problem.

With the company in a critical situation, taking frequent leave would surely be held against her.

Raymond shot Gideon a venomous glare.

This man was always using such smooth words. It was obvious he had ill intentions toward his mom!

He made it sound so nice, but who knew what he planned to do after tricking his mom into staying here!

Gideon noticed his gaze and raised an eyebrow. "Young man, have you been to the hospital yet?"

At his words, Raymond deflated like a defeated rooster, retracting all his ruffled feathers.

Gideon had struck a fatal blow.

When it was time to assign rooms for the night, he pretended to be scared and asked to sleep with Celestine.
