He was now extremely wary of Joanna.
Celia was stunned into silence by his words.
But when she recovered, she accused Raymond, "Money, money, money! That's all you care about! You really do get tacky after spending too much time with Mom! Since you love her so much, you can be her son forever! I like Miss Sinclair, and I'll be her daughter! That's it, Raymond. I have nothing more to say to you. Let's not contact each other anymore unless it's important."
With that, Celia hung up.
When Raymond tried to call back, all he heard was a busy signal.
Still feeling that something was wrong, he contacted Sanderson.
"Raymond, for now, don't tell your mother about your father waking up with amnesia. Just stay with your mom for now. When the time is right, I'll arrange for you all to come back together," Sanderson said in a earnest tone.
Raymond felt that something was off.
But he had no one else to discuss this with.
Since even Sanderson was saying this, he had no choice but to bury the matter in his heart.
Meanwhile, although Celia had blocked Raymond, his words kept replaying in her mind.
She was young, but she already understood how important inheritance was.
If Miss Sinclair had her own child, would she really be the same as she was now...
That night, Celia clung to Joanna, not wanting her to leave.
"Miss Joanna, can you read me another story?"
Joanna closed the storybook and stroked her head. "What's wrong, Celia? Can't sleep?"
Celia looked at her concerned face, nodded, then shook her head, looking conflicted.
