"What? Oh, so now you care about your reputation? Maybe you should have thought about that before acting like a total scumbag."
"That's enough," Julian warned, stepping forward to loom intimidatingly over Jade. "I suggest you back off."
Willow, who had been standing quietly by Jade's side waiting to pull her away, immediately stepped in. She shielded Jade with her body, staring Julian down face-to-face.
"Control your friend," Julian demanded coldly.
"Control yourself," Willow fired back without missing a beat. "My friend didn't say anything wrong."
Normally, Willow would never bother arguing with him. It was pointless. But Jade was a different story. She would never let Julian intimidate or bully her best friend.
The tension in the air instantly plummeted.
Seth and Lucas exchanged stunned looks. They had never encountered a woman like Jade. In their social circles, women were always docile, gentle, and utterly obedient. This fiery, relentless aggression was entirely new to them, and they had no idea how to react.
Hugo, on the other hand, watched the entire scene unfold with genuine amusement. He recognized Jade immediately from her social media posts. She was a true vanguard of justice—sharp, decisive, and refreshingly straightforward.
Jade was gearing up to hurl another insult when she finally noticed Hugo standing off to the side. She froze completely. She hadn't realized he was with them.
