Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 184

When Julian didn't answer, her suspicions were confirmed. Vivienne immediately seized the opportunity. "I told you she was bad news! She's incompetent and completely full of herself. She treated me like garbage when I reached out, and now she's doing the exact same thing to you. Who does she think she is?"

Julian was already agitated, and her grating complaints only made his headache worse. Refusing to entertain her tirade, he pulled out a cigarette and lit it in heavy silence.

Fired up by her own indignation, Vivienne completely missed the warning signs in his expression. "If you ask me, we need to play hardball with someone like her. We should use this kickoff meeting to formally complain to Merit about her unprofessional behavior. Let her whole company see what a nightmare she is."

Ideally, she could expose the woman's awful attitude right in front of Mr. Thorne. If Silas Thorne got angry enough to fire the VP on the spot, that would be perfect. Then Vivienne would never have to deal with her again, finally putting an end to the endless stream of document revisions.

Vivienne was deep in her vindictive fantasy when Julian abruptly cut her off. His tone was sharp and laced with obvious impatience. "Enough. Get out."

Though clearly annoyed by his dismissal, Vivienne didn't dare argue. She knew Julian's temper well enough. When he was in a good mood, she could get away with pushing boundaries. But when he was brooding like this, he wouldn't spare anyone's feelings. It was best to just give him a wide berth.

Giving herself a graceful exit, she smiled tightly. "I'll head out then so you can work. Let me know if you need anything."

Marching back to her own office, she immediately fired off an email to Leo Yardley, ordering him to finalize all project materials for her to present at the upcoming meeting.
