Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 193

The initial novelty of seeing her in this new setting had faded, leaving only the frustration of feeling played, along with a bitter sense of defeat and loss of control that he refused to acknowledge.

"Are you out of your mind?" Willow looked at him with sheer disgust. "We're in a public place. Do you really think I won't scream for security right now?"

"Go ahead," Julian replied, unfazed. "If you don't mind the scene, then neither do I. Don't forget, we are still legally married. I don't see anything wrong with people seeing us together."

Hearing this actually calmed Willow down. She knew that if it came down to a contest of shamelessness, she would never win against him. So, she cut straight to the chase. "What exactly do you want?"

"I said it from the start. I want to talk." Julian's expression remained neutral.

Realizing that he couldn't actually do anything to her in broad daylight, she decided it was better to let him speak than to remain in this standoff.

Dropping her defensive posture, she prompted him. "Fine. What do you want to talk about?"

Her sudden 180-degree shift in attitude left Julian momentarily at a loss. It dawned on him that he didn't know her at all; he could never predict her next move.

"I thought you wanted to talk? Spit it out," Willow urged.

Julian snapped out of his daze. "Let's start with my previous question. How did you get this job at Merit?"

Willow answered without hesitation. "I refuse to answer that."

Julian's eyes widened, his face darkening instantly.

"What's with that look?" Willow stared back coldly. "I agreed to talk. I never agreed to answer your questions. Julian, you're a grown man and an executive of a major corporation. You shouldn't be this petty. Besides, I did what you asked. What more do you want?"
