But for the sake of their business partnership, he replied politely, "That is our boss, Mr. Thorne."
Hearing that last name, Vivienne gasped in shock. Before coming here, she had done her research on Merit's history, so she knew exactly what the name 'Thorne' meant.
She couldn't believe her luck. On her very first visit to Merit, she had caught a glimpse of the legendary Silas Thorne.
Rumor had it that he rarely made public appearances and declined all private dinner invitations. More importantly, he kept his personal life spotless and was completely single.
Vivienne cleared her throat and put on an act. "Since we ran into him, maybe I should go say hello? It might lead to more collaborations in the future."
"That won't be necessary. Mr. Thorne is very busy and doesn't have time," Arthur quickly blocked her path. He knew his boss's temperament perfectly. If he let a woman like her approach Silas, he would be chewed out for sure.
Besides, Silas had just walked off with Willow. If they accidentally interrupted them, Arthur's head would definitely be on the chopping block.
Vivienne wasn't ready to give up. "It's fine, I can wait. It's still early anyway. And since we're already here, it's such a great opportunity."
She was always driven by ambition. If she could somehow connect with Silas Thorne and impress him, she would never have to worry about finding new projects again.
Arthur knew exactly what she was plotting. He had been in the corporate world long enough to spot her type from a mile away. "There is no need."
Finishing his sentence, he made sure to redirect her attention. "Mr. Sinclair is right over there. You can go to him now."
Vivienne looked up and saw Julian standing in the distance, smoking a cigarette and clearly in a terrible mood. She had no choice but to brace herself and walk over to him.
