Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 287

Since he had opened the door, she walked right through it. "I suggest you watch your tone. This dead marriage of ours will be officially over in a few days."

"What are you talking about?" Julian froze, his eyes going blank for a second.

Willow had zero patience for his attitude, but this was too important to mess up. She didn't want him causing any last-minute complications, so she forced herself to spell it out. "Our divorce hearing is this Friday at 10 AM. Don't forget to show up."

The words knocked the breath out of Julian's lungs. His pupils constricted sharply.

He spoke with a dangerous edge. "Do you actually find it amusing to play these games?"

Willow genuinely thought he was out of his mind. She stared him dead in the eye and spoke with uncompromising sharpness. "Do I look like I'm playing games? And why would I lie? This hasn't been a sudden decision. Honestly, reaching this step has taken entirely too long. I can't wait for it to be over so I never have to deal with you again."

The words seared into Julian's ears like a branding iron. He refused to believe it. He couldn't accept it.

Forcing down his panic, he countered, "There has to be a mandatory mediation session before a trial. It's the standard legal procedure for a divorce. We haven't even gone to mediation, so how could we possibly be at the trial stage?"

"Have you completely lost your memory?" Willow looked at him as if he were an idiot. She pulled out her phone and swiped to a photo. "Why don't you take a good look at this?"

It was a formal record of a failed mediation session. Julian had absolutely no memory of it, yet his signature was clearly scrawled at the bottom.
