Willow knew he needed to vent, so she sat quietly, letting him purge all his rage before she spoke. "You're spot on. But thankfully, the nightmare is over."
She was entirely calm, but Leo was still seeing red. "Boss, why didn't you tell us any of this sooner? We might not have had the power to destroy him, but we sure as hell could have quit. We wouldn't have kept breaking our backs to make that bastard richer. Thinking about all the overtime I pulled for him makes me want to puke."
"Don't do that," Willow soothed. "If you're going to blame yourself, then I'd have to hate myself even more for giving him years of my life. Besides, if I hadn't been banished to Seattle, I never would have met you guys."
"I guess that's true," Leo muttered, finally finding a silver lining. His blood pressure slowly began to drop.
"Exactly," Willow encouraged. "And all that toxic drama is in the rearview mirror. I've got real power now, and massive backing. I even publicly annihilated Vivienne Sinclair at the summit yesterday."
Leo had seen the viral clips online. "I saw that. Yesterday I thought it was epic, but after hearing all this, it wasn't harsh enough. But don't worry, if I ever cross paths with her, I'll make sure she regrets it."
"She's a nobody now. Your future is what matters," Willow said, cleanly pivoting the conversation. "Oh, by the way, Silas Thorne is dropping by shortly. He wants to meet you today so you guys don't have to fly all the way to New York for your final interviews."
