Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 431

For some reason, her throat tightened the moment she heard his voice.

Willow pushed her weak body off the bed and shuffled over to open the door. As it swung open, she was met with Silas's deep, worry-filled gaze.

Silas immediately took in her pale, haggard face and the faint dark circles under her eyes. She looked so fragile that a strong gust of wind could knock her over. It felt as if a hand had reached into his chest and squeezed his heart, leaving him breathless with a suffocating ache.

The two had been caught in a standoff lately, making the sudden reunion feel slightly tense.

"What's wrong?" Silas broke the silence.

"I have a slight fever," Willow replied.

"Did you take any medicine?"

"Yes."

"Do you need to go to the hospital?"

"No."

"Are you in a lot of pain?"

"I'm okay."

"Have you eaten?"

"No."

After the rapid-fire questions, Silas told her to get back into bed while he headed straight for the kitchen with practiced familiarity.

Before long, the comforting aroma of warm chicken soup drifted through the apartment.

Silas patiently let the soup simmer until it was rich and hearty, carefully cooling it to the perfect temperature before bringing a bowl to her bedside.

He pulled up a chair, clearly intending to feed her.

Willow felt a wave of embarrassment and leaned back. "You don't have to do that. I can feed myself."

Silas ignored her protest, stubbornly holding the spoon. "Open up."
