"Are you hurt?" As soon as the words left his mouth, he reached out to examine her condition himself.
He gently pinched her cheeks, scanning her face from top to bottom. Then he checked her eyes, ears, and nose, not missing a single detail.
Once he confirmed her face was uninjured, he asked her to open her mouth, carefully inspecting her oral cavity and teeth.
Willow obediently complied throughout the entire process. But when he asked her to take off her jacket and roll up her pant legs for a further check, she hesitated.
She felt it was unnecessary, and having him examine her body felt a bit too intimate.
Silas did not overthink it. Assuming she was just cold, he turned to shut the door tightly, moved her away from the draft, and said softly, "Be good. Let me take a look; it will be quick. It was pouring out there, and you were exposed for so long. I will not have any peace of mind until I see for myself."
Seeing his earnest demeanor, Willow felt she was overthinking things. His expression was calm and composed, radiating nothing but pure concern. She relented and took off her jacket.
Silas carefully inspected her arms. After confirming there were no scrapes or bruises, he gently rolled up her pant legs.
Although Willow had silently agreed, she still felt awkward and flushed under his intense, focused gaze. Her bare skin was exposed to the cool air and his piercing eyes. Her ears burned slightly as she whispered, "Are you done?"
The moment the words left her lips, the man's demeanor shifted drastically.
The calm in his dark eyes instantly vanished, replaced by a heavy, somber shadow, carrying an uncontrollable, freezing intensity.
