Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 482

Silas quickly returned, carrying a sleek, well-organized first-aid kit. He crouched down and began applying ointment to her wounds with gentle, deliberate movements.

He opened the ointment and gauze, meticulously cleaning the cuts before slowly applying the medicine. His technique was practiced and precise, clearly demonstrating a high level of expertise. However, Willow noticed a faint, almost imperceptible tremor in his steady fingers.

Watching his focused profile, Willow felt a mix of admiration and awe. "How do you know how to do all this?"

Was there anything in the world this man could not do?

Without stopping his movements, Silas replied evenly, "I received special training when I was young."

Children born into the pinnacle of high society were never just taught academics and business. First aid, survival skills, wound care, and wilderness rescue were all drilled into their instincts through rigorous, hands-on training by private experts.

Intrigued, Willow asked, "What else did you learn when you were young?"

"First aid, self-defense, horseback riding, driving, foreign languages, history, the arts, business... basically anything you can think of, I learned it."

Silas spoke casually, as if listing items on a grocery list, but Willow was absolutely stunned. "That much? You must have had an exhausting childhood."

"It was alright. I got used to it." Being born into a family like his came with heavy responsibilities. Silas did not feel burdened by it; he enjoyed the privileges his family provided, so he naturally fulfilled the obligations that came with them.

Silas had no desire to dwell on the topic. He gently patted her leg, gesturing for her to pull her pants up a little higher so he could apply the ointment more easily.

Willow complied. Her eyes fell on his hands again, and she grew even more puzzled when she noticed the slight trembling had not stopped.

Logically, someone with such masterful, practiced skills would have steady hands and a calm heart. Why were his fingertips shaking while applying the medicine?

"What, you do not trust me?" Silas frowned slightly.

"That is not it," Willow replied. She would never doubt the capabilities of a man who could mobilize such a massive rescue operation. "I just wanted to provide more clues."

"I care far more about your safety than any clues. Even if we need to discuss it, I want to wait until you have slept." Willow might not have realized her current state, but Silas saw it with absolute clarity.

Her nerves were strung incredibly tight, and she was in a state of heightened hyperarousal. Although she was speaking normally and thinking clearly, the undeniable exhaustion in her eyes gave her away. She was holding herself together by sheer willpower.

She was clearly drained to the bone, yet she refused to let her guard down for even a second.

Silas did not want her to be like this. At least in front of him, she did not need to be so strong.
