When Silas entered the room, he saw that Willow was indeed awake.
She had not gotten out of bed and was still wearing the clothes she had fallen asleep in. Her long hair cascaded loosely over her shoulders, framing her delicate collarbones. She sat quietly at the edge of the bed, her expression gentle and silent, looking so incredibly docile it made his heart melt.
Silas approached her, subconsciously lowering his voice. "Why didn't you call me when you woke up?"
"I just woke up," Willow replied, her voice soft and sweet.
Silas felt his chest tighten with affection. He closed the distance, reaching out to feel her forehead. "Not bad. You do not have a fever. Do you feel unwell anywhere else?"
Willow shook her head.
"Are you hungry? I can have someone bring you some food."
It was already late morning, and over ten hours had passed since her last meal. Reminded of this, Willow realized she was genuinely famished.
Silas noticed her reaction and asked before she could speak, "What do you want to eat?"
"Anything is fine, as long as it is a little light."
"Alright."
Silas turned and stepped out to give a few instructions before quickly returning.
A short while later, the food arrived. It consisted of oatmeal, simple side dishes, and soft, steamed sandwiches. In a remote place like this, it was the best meal money could buy.
