A massive wave of terror completely consumed her. The memories of how she had plotted to destroy them aggressively merged with her current, horrifying reality, grabbing her heart in a death grip.
"No... no!" She began shaking violently, instinctively kicking and thrashing her legs, her voice shrill with absolute panic. "Let me go! Don't take me in there! I am not going into that cave!"
The oppressive darkness, the claustrophobic space, and the eerie, suffocating deadness of the location terrified her beyond belief.
Driven mad by panic, she completely abandoned her pride and dignity. Looking up at the emotionless men, she forced a sultry, desperate tone, attempting to use seduction to buy her life. "Please, guys, I am begging you... let me go. I am gorgeous, I can give you a good time. I will do whatever you want. Just please, don't lock me in here, okay?"
She battered her eyelashes, putting on a pathetic, seductive display, hoping her body could be her ticket to survival.
But the men in black were like statues carved from ice. Their eyes were cold and dead, entirely unfazed by her desperate, pathetic attempts at seduction. Not a single muscle twitched in response.
And, of course, they did not stop dragging her for a second.
The leader of the group looked down at her miserable state. His voice was deep, mechanical, and entirely devoid of human emotion. "Ms. Sinclair, we are simply following orders."
Vivienne stiffened, her whole body freezing in terror. "Whose?! Who sent you?!"
The man stared down at her with absolute authority, enunciating every word to deliver the message perfectly. "The boss told us to pass on a message: Every ounce of darkness, fear, and suffering she endured, you must experience exactly the same. Without a single fraction spared."
The words struck Vivienne like a bolt of lightning, detonating in her brain.
In an instant, every shred of hope and confusion vanished. The brutal truth stared her right in the face.
It was Silas Thorne!
Once, twice, three times...
Every frantic attempt to escape ended in absolute failure. Jagged rocks sliced open her forehead and cheeks. Warm blood slid down her face, blinding her further, dripping from her chin onto the cold, unforgiving ground.
Completely drained of all physical strength, she stumbled backward, her legs finally giving out. She collapsed heavily into the freezing mud.
Yet, even in the depths of this horrifying nightmare, she felt zero remorse.
Willow! It was all her fault! If it were not for her, she would never be in this living hell! She was supposed to be leaving this godforsaken place! But they dragged her back!
She would never, ever forgive her!
