Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 495

Everyone knew Silas's temperament. He demanded a pristine, silent environment and absolutely loathed chaotic noise. Normally, a single cough on a call was enough to make him scowl. Today's barnyard symphony was a guaranteed death sentence.

They braced themselves for their boss's icy wrath, holding their breath in terror. But after a long, agonizing pause, the anticipated verbal slaughter never came.

On the screen, Silas sat on a crude wooden chair, wearing a tailored black suit that looked absurdly out of place against the rustic farmhouse backdrop. Yet, his expression was entirely peaceful, his brow relaxed. He looked like he was having the best day of his life.

Sure enough, a second later, his voice came through—smooth and shockingly pleasant. "Continue your reports. The background noise is on my end. Don't worry about it."

Instantly, the entire board stared at their screens in absolute disbelief, their eyes wide with shock.

Was this really their ruthless, terrifying CEO?

Not only was he perfectly fine slumming it in the backwoods, but he was actually in a phenomenal mood. They were dying to know what miracle worker possessed the power to tame the beast.

Since Silas had given the green light, the executives hesitantly resumed.

When it was the marketing director's turn, his nerves got the better of him. He stuttered, lost his train of thought, and even cited a totally incorrect statistic before someone frantically corrected him.

In the past, Silas would have cut him off and demanded his resignation on the spot. But today, Silas didn't lose his temper at all. Instead, he spoke in a gentle, encouraging tone. "There's no rush. Take your time and verify the numbers before you speak."

The rest of the executives nearly fell out of their chairs. Who was this imposter, and what had he done with Mr. Thorne?

Someone chimed in, "But he has everything. He's usually a block of ice. I'm dying to know who on earth managed to trigger such a massive mood swing."

Another laughed, "Whoever they are, they just saved all our jobs! I just pray he stays like this forever."

While the office was buzzing, Silas closed his laptop and looked toward Willow's room, his eyes brimming with affection.

Checking the time, he figured Willow and Leo would be wrapping up soon. He decided to go meet her halfway. She had only asked him not to sit in on the visit, not that he couldn't walk her back.

At the same time, deep in Shadow Creek Grotto, Vivienne was currently living through the darkest nightmare of her life. With no way out and no rescue in sight, she was breaking.
