Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 509

He couldn't believe it. "Willow, are you serious?"

"Of course," Willow smiled, reaching out to gently ruffle his hair. "And I have even better news. A new targeted therapy for EB is already in clinical trials. As soon as the drug hits the market, Merit will coordinate your care immediately and get you on the best possible treatment plan. We won't let you miss a single chance at a cure."

If Ethan had been surprised before, he was absolutely dumbstruck now. He just stared at her, totally overwhelmed, until his parents beside him began weeping and thanking Willow profusely, which finally snapped him back to reality.

He pressed his lips together hard, fighting the tears pooling in his eyes. "Thank you, Willow! I won't forget what you said! I promise I'll rest and do exactly what the doctors tell me. Once I'm stronger, I'm going to come to New York to find you, so I can see the outside world you talked about."

"That sounds perfect. We'll be waiting for you in New York," Willow assured him. She then stepped slightly to the side. "But you shouldn't be thanking me for this. None of this financial support or medical coordination was my call. The person you really need to thank is him."

She gestured to Silas, who was standing quietly behind her. "He's the one in charge of everything. He orchestrated your treatment plan and set up the funding. So, he's the one who truly deserves your thanks."

Silas had specifically told Willow to pass the credit to him beforehand; otherwise, she wouldn't have felt it was her place to say it.

Hearing this, Ethan immediately sat up straighter, wiped his face, and spoke with solemn, respectful gratitude. "Thank you, Mr. Thorne."

The formal title hung in the air for a second.

Then, the usually silent Silas finally parted his lips, his deep, magnetic voice filling the room. "You don't need to call me Mr. Thorne. Silas is fine."
