Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 528

"Of course I do," Jayden said, a half-smile playing on his lips. "Why else do you think I went through all this trouble to see you today?"

With that, he took a slow, measured step toward the bed.

A strange, suffocating presence instantly invaded the air, breaching Vivienne's personal space and making her chest tight. She instinctively shrank back, pressing her spine against the cold headboard as a wave of physical revulsion crawled up her spine.

But Vivienne also knew all too well that she was surrounded by enemies. Without any better options, she had no choice but to endure it.

Ignoring the blatant disgust in her eyes, Jayden casually turned and parked himself right on the edge of her mattress.

That was the final straw for Vivienne. "Just spit it out. I don't have time to play games with you. You know exactly what kind of situation I'm in right now. Wasting my time won't do you any good either."

"What's the rush?" Jayden chuckled softly. "It's rare I get a chance to be this close to you. Let me get a good look first."

Before Vivienne could react, he reached out and locked a firm grip around her wrist.

Vivienne wasn't having it. She immediately raised her other hand to strike him, but right before her palm connected, Jayden spoke. "Have you forgotten? Mr. Smith came to the States this time for the Sinclair project, yes, but he also has another, more crucial mission. That matter is his true priority, and it's the only bargaining chip you have left."

Hearing this, Vivienne's raised hand froze mid-air.
