The air conditioning blasted through the hotel room, but it did nothing to dispel the deep, churning waves of disgust rolling through Vivienne's bones.
The entire encounter had been hasty and humiliating, devoid of a single shred of tenderness, leaving only a suffocating sense of degradation in its wake. She bit her lower lip hard, her fingertips gripping the bedsheets beneath her tightly enough to wrinkle the expensive fabric.
She had remained as stiff as a soulless puppet from start to finish. Every passing second had been sheer torture, and the overwhelming shame and revulsion in her heart threatened to swallow her whole.
Left with no other choice, Vivienne had simply closed her eyes, forcing her mind to go blank as she prayed for this filthy transaction to end quickly.
The man beside her, Jay, hadn't exactly enjoyed himself either. Having hurriedly found his release, he was left feeling entirely unsatisfied.
He casually grabbed his shirt and tossed it on, leaning back lazily against the headboard. His gaze swept over the woman beside him, who was trying desperately to maintain a facade of calm. In his eyes, the proud and haughty Sinclair socialite was nothing special, no different from the countless other women he had engaged in casual flings with. In fact, compared to women who actually knew how to please a man and play along, her rigid resistance and sheer reluctance made the whole experience incredibly dull.
Yet, ironically, he found himself somewhat captivated by it.
This was a wealthy socialite who had grown up surrounded by adoration, someone who was always proud, arrogant, and aloof, someone who usually couldn't even be bothered to glance his way. But now, for the sake of a project, a single opportunity, she had been forced to lower her proud head. She had been forced to endure his touch, her eyes brimming with defiance, yet still obediently compromising and submitting.
This extreme contrast fiercely satisfied his twisted desire for conquest. Watching Vivienne suppress her nausea and endure the humiliation, Jay felt a sickeningly triumphant surge of satisfaction. It was exhilarating.
