She looked completely different from the smug, endlessly glorious woman she had been on stage just moments ago.
Her exquisite makeup was slightly smudged. Her lips were a sickly, bloodless white, yet the tips of her ears were flushed bright red with panic. Her meticulously styled curls were tangled, the collar of her gorgeous champagne-colored gown was crooked and wrinkled, and there were faint, messy marks visible on her exposed neck. She looked completely disheveled and frantic.
Taking in the scene, it really wasn't hard for Willow to guess what had just transpired. But she couldn't be bothered to ask, nor did she care to get involved. Whatever happened to Vivienne was none of her business.
She turned to leave as planned, but to her surprise, Vivienne blocked her path.
Vivienne was currently in a state of extreme panic. She hadn't expected to run into Willow here of all places, let alone have her see her in such a pathetic state. She had no idea if Willow had overheard their conversation either.
Just a few minutes prior, she had been in the banquet hall networking with the attendees when a message from Jay popped up on her phone. His tone was brutal and domineering, ordering her to meet him alone in the fire escape immediately. If she didn't show up, he wouldn't hesitate to make things ugly.
Though Vivienne had cursed him under her breath, she hadn't dared to refuse. Jay truly did possess the evidence needed to ruin her completely.
She had finally managed to turn the tide and step into the spotlight in front of everyone. She absolutely refused to let her dreams shatter and lose everything right when she had finally grasped it.
Vivienne had gone with immense reluctance, assuming Jay merely wanted to exchange a few words. To her horror, he had acted like a complete madman today. The second he saw her, he completely lost control and started putting his hands all over her.
He claimed that seeing her looking so radiant on stage had been entirely too seductive, making it impossible for him to hold back. He had tried to force her into submitting to him right then and there.
Terrified and utterly disgusted, Vivienne's heart had been filled with nothing but nausea and resistance, but she also hadn't dared to offend him entirely. They had struggled back and forth until she finally promised to sleep with him another time, allowing her to temporarily escape his grasp.
