Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 557

Martha looked at his gentle, sincere expression, her heart aching with fondness. She let out a soft sigh, her tone warm and reflective. "There's no such thing as 'should' in this world. Even parents and children have boundaries, let alone you and me, who aren't even family. But, I understand why you're doing this."

She softened her voice, offering a subtle hint and a gentle push of support. "I know my Willow. She takes her time, and she overthinks everything. Because she's been hurt so badly in love before, she's incredibly guarded now. She's terrified of committing, and she's terrified of trusting."

Martha's gaze was steady and encouraging as it rested on Silas. "But I trust you. As long as you're willing to give her a little more patience, a little more persistence, and help her heal day by day, she'll come around eventually. All these issues will work themselves out."

Those heartfelt words struck Silas right in the chest.

He froze in place, completely stunned.

"Martha, you knew..."

"I guessed," Martha said gently. "I don't know if I'm right, but if I'm off base, just ignore me."

Silas didn't give her a direct answer, but his silence was confirmation enough. His immediate reaction was to apologize. "Martha, I wasn't trying to hide it."

He knew he should have been the one to step up, make his intentions clear, and confess everything. But for a myriad of reasons, he just hadn't made his move yet.

"I'm not saying this to blame you, and I won't interfere too much with you and Willow," Martha explained. Willow had previously told her that Silas was in love with someone else, but Martha had never bought it. She knew there had to be some sort of misunderstanding.
