Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 565

There was no hesitation, no turning back. After suffering in silence for so long, this was the absolute endgame she had to achieve.

Martha's anxieties eased slightly at that declaration, though she couldn't help but offer a warning. "As long as you have a plan. The sooner you escape those two scoundrels, the sooner you can start fresh. But carrying all this weight by yourself is too much. Silas is incredibly sharp, well-connected, and reliable. If you hit a roadblock, don't be afraid to ask for his advice. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to help you."

Just hearing the name Silas made Willow's face flush. The sudden memory of his kiss flashed violently through her mind—the heat of his palm, the proximity of his breathing, the soft warmth of his lips.

A fiery crimson rushed up her neck, burning the tips of her ears before flooding her cheeks, painting her radiant complexion in deep, embarrassed hues.

Her sudden distraction and glowing face did not escape Martha's notice.

Unaware of what had just transpired in the living room, Martha assumed Willow was feeling unwell. She reached out, pressing a hand to Willow's forehead. "What's wrong? Why is your face so red? Are you sick? Did you catch a fever?"

"I'm fine," Willow snapped out of her daze, frantically trying to bury the nervous flutter in her chest. She avoided her mother's probing gaze, grasping for a random excuse. "It's just a little stuffy in here, that's all. Oh, I just remembered I need to do something in the other room."

She remembered Silas was still sitting out in the living room.

"Will you be okay by yourself? Are you feeling alright?" she asked Martha before leaving.

"I'm fine. Go take care of your things."

"Okay, I'll check on you in a bit."
