Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 600

Ashton pulled back slightly, recalling what she had said on the phone. His lips curved into a smirk. "So, you're telling me you had my kid?"

He looked completely unbothered, his eyes dancing with amusement. It was obvious he didn't care at all about suddenly becoming a father.

Vivienne noticed his indifference. This man was exactly as she remembered—selfish, sleazy, and entirely heartless. She couldn't believe she had ever been foolish enough to sleep with him.

She despised his arrogant playboy act, but right now, she was a pariah facing total destruction. If she didn't use him, she was completely screwed.

Forcing down her rising nausea, she looked him dead in the eye. "Yes."

"And I'm just supposed to take your word for it?" Ashton scoffed, his eyes brimming with mockery.

"I have no reason to lie," Vivienne said sharply. "The timeline matches perfectly. You were the only one I was sleeping with back then. He is yours."

"Besides, he looks exactly like you. Once you see him, you'll know. And if you're really that paranoid, we can do a DNA test."

Ashton fell silent, clicking his lighter shut. He nodded slowly, but there wasn't a single trace of fatherly joy in his eyes. He looked as if they were discussing the weather.

He knew exactly what his position was. The Lockwood Family was a second-tier wealthy family in New York City, plagued by vicious infighting among multiple wives and illegitimate children. His mother was a mistress with zero power. Ashton himself had never been favored by the patriarch, and he knew bringing home a bastard son wouldn't win him a dime of the family fortune.

The only reason he had bothered to show up tonight was because he had seen the explosive headlines about Vivienne, the Sinclair Group, and Merit Biotech. He knew those companies sat at the absolute apex of the business world.
