Seeing them arrive together, Julian froze in shock before an all-consuming rage surged through him. His eyes locked onto their intertwined hands. He stormed forward, glaring dagger-like at Willow. "Willow! What is the meaning of this? We aren't divorced yet. The hearing hasn't even started, and you're openly parading around with him? Where is your respect for our marriage? For me?"
His explosive anger only made Silas and Willow appear that much calmer in comparison.
Silas stepped slightly to the side, firmly shielding Willow behind his tall frame. He murmured something to an assistant nearby, who quickly hurried off and returned moments later.
When the assistant came back, he respectfully handed Silas the finalized divorce decrees.
Silas took the documents and tossed them directly at Julian's chest. "Take a good look at what that is. You are now officially divorced."
Julian scrambled to catch the papers. As he read them, he rooted to the spot, his face twisting in disbelief. His voice cracked with hysteria. "Impossible. This is absolutely impossible! I just got to the courthouse. The hearing hasn't even begun, no procedures were followed. How could we possibly be divorced? Silas, what kind of dirty trick are you playing?"
"A trick?" Silas's lips curled into a cold, mocking smirk, his eyes utterly devoid of warmth. "I thought you were the expert on those. Crushing people with authority, using threats and bribes, playing power games... isn't that what you do best?"
He leaned forward, an overwhelming wave of dominance radiating from him. His voice dropped to an icy chill. "You aren't the only person in this world who knows how to wield power. What you're experiencing today isn't even a tenth of what Willow had to endure from you. What, you can't handle it already? How are you going to survive what comes next?"
"And let me give you one final warning. The divorce decree is legally binding. Your marriage to Willow is permanently dissolved. A clean break. No more ties. From this moment on, she has absolutely nothing to do with you. She is mine."
Julian's face turned a sickly pale, his eyes flashing with desperate, paranoid refusal. "I don't agree! You bypassed the legal process. This certificate is void. I can appeal this and have it overturned. I will never agree to this divorce."
"Suit yourself," Silas replied, his tone indifferent but laced with a destructive threat. "If you want to appeal, if you want to drag this out and make a public spectacle of it, I'll play your game. But only if you don't mind watching the Sinclair Group get delisted, and seeing your family's century-old legacy wiped entirely off the map of New York City's elite."
Those casual words instantly decimated all of Julian's resistance.
