He had always assumed he was naturally cold-blooded, destined to live a quiet, solitary life.
That was until Willow crashed into his desolate world.
She had brought color, warmth, and blinding light into his life, completely rewriting his reality.
Only because of her did he realize how breathtaking intimacy could be. Only with her did he understand that the physical connection between two people in love was the most incredible feeling in the world.
As his thoughts raced, his hands didn't stop. He smoothly shifted his weight, pinning Willow against the soft cushions of the sofa. His hot breath fanned across her face, effectively trapping her.
Seeing the dark, overwhelming devotion swirling in his eyes, Willow knew she had lost this battle. Surrendering with a soft sigh, she looped her arms around his neck. "Okay," she whispered, setting the boundary. "Just once tonight. And no tricks."
"Deal," Silas agreed immediately, a victorious, wicked gleam in his eyes. "Whatever my darling wants."
He captured her lips again, his kiss deep and all-consuming.
After a long, breathless moment, he pulled back just an inch. His voice was a raw, husky rasp. "Let's try something different tonight."
Willow’s mind was hazy, her eyelashes fluttering as she looked up at him in confusion. "Different how?"
Silas turned his head slowly, his dark gaze locking onto the massive, pristine floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the glittering skyline.
One look was all it took. Willow’s face turned crimson, heat radiating all the way down her neck. "No."
She was naturally shy, and the mere thought of such a brazen display was too much. "Not there. It's too... exposed. I can't."
Silas understood her hesitation. He didn't force her; he merely continued his slow, drugging kisses, coaxing her with devastating patience. "No one can see us, sweetheart. It's just you and me."
"I don't..." Willow clutched at his shirt, her voice trembling with vulnerability. "It won't be comfortable there. Let's just go to the bedroom, please?"
