See?
Clara took a deep breath. She glanced at the first sentence and couldn't read any further.
The favored one is always justified.
And the unloved one, whatever she does, is considered "making a fuss."
How ironic.
She didn't want to argue like a shrew, nor did she want to infuriate herself.
Without replying, she closed the chat window and sent a message to Isabella Gates:
[Madam, there are only a few days left until the half-month deadline. Please hurry up and deal with the matter between your son and Seraphina.]
After sending it.
She didn't even wait for a reply, plugged her phone in to charge, and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
When she came out, she picked up her phone to check.
Isabella Gates had replied half an hour later, clearly angered by her "aggressive" tone:
[I am naturally attentive to my son's lifelong affairs; I don't need you to supervise me! The new girlfriend I'm finding for him is the daughter of the Shen family. She is currently abroad and hasn't returned yet. Once she's back, I will resolve this matter immediately!]
[As for dealing with Seraphina, you don't need to push me on that either. For doing something so shameless, I would punish her even if you hadn't said anything.]
As long as it's resolved.
As long as there's a punishment.
Clara couldn't be bothered to say anything else.
What she hadn't expected was that Julian had also sent her messages half an hour ago.
A full five messages.
But they were all unsent.
Clara's face remained impassive. Unlike before, when she would secretly rejoice for ages if he initiated a message, she didn't chase after him to ask what he had written.
She put down her phone, walked over to the vanity, and after applying her skincare and body lotion, went straight to bed.
...
The next day.
Clara woke up bright and early. Before Julian returned from his morning run, she got herself ready and left the house.
Even though she couldn't understand why he kept coming back to sleep these past few days while Seraphina wasn't around...
It couldn't possibly be for her.
