Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 163

Ultimately, Clara rode back in Julian's car.

But the moment they arrived at the estate, she headed straight upstairs without even taking off her shoes.

Julian walked in right behind her. Watching her retreating figure, his lips pressed into a thin line, a shadow of exhaustion crossing his features. These past few days, her behavior had left him incredibly frustrated.

Hearing them arrive, Susan stepped out from the kitchen. Sensing the tension, she asked, "Mr. Lowell, is Ms. Vance upset?"

Julian shrugged off his suit jacket, draping it over his arm. He wore a crisp, tailored shirt that perfectly accentuated his broad shoulders and lean physique.

Glancing at the housekeeper, he ignored her question. "Make two bowls of beef noodles. The same kind as last time."

With that, he headed up the stairs.

"We're out of beef," Susan admitted hesitantly. "The braised beef was made by Ms. Vance herself, and she hasn't made a new batch recently."

Julian paused mid-step. It hadn't occurred to him that Clara had completely stopped cooking lately.

She was truly washing her hands of him.

In the past, no matter how bad their cold wars got, she had never neglected his daily needs.

A sour feeling twisted in his gut. "Then just make whatever," he muttered before continuing upstairs.

"Yes, sir."

...

Reaching the master bedroom, Julian knocked briefly before pushing the door open.

Clara was sitting by the desk, lost in thought. Startled by the noise, she realized she had been too angry to lock the door. She frowned, looking over her shoulder. "Why did you come in?"

His gaze darkened. "This is my house."

The words felt like a physical blow, leaving a sharp, agonizing ache in her throat.

Right. It was his house.

Fighting the sting of tears, Clara stood up to leave. "Then I'll get out."

Julian frowned. Reaching out, he grabbed her arm and pulled her stubborn frame against his chest. "I was just teasing you. Why are you taking it so seriously?"

Teasing?

Clara bit her lip tightly, saying nothing. She simply stared up at him with bloodshot eyes.

Julian's breath hitched. A sudden, uncomfortable tightness seized his chest, as if a hand had squeezed his heart.
